arp head stud questions?

i have a question on the ARP head studs,

do you torque down the actually stud? or is it the nut thats torqued down to 85 ft lbs?

the stud gets hand tight with Allen key and you torque down on the nut.use arp lube on the stud and on the washers and on the nuts.

DO NOT TORQUE THE STUD!!! This would most likely put enough twisting force on the stud to snap it in half.
