i would line up the top two, then take a pic of the bottom. cause you may be able to turn it a little and still be very close to the best you can get

well the cam gears are off yes...what so you cant get cam gears lined up correctly? to where all timing marks are line in? thats crazy...i thought all timing marks should be in line

as i stated, re-do the timing, making sure you rotate the engine in the right direction, and bring the two cam gears in line, then snap a picture of the crank line-up mark. also, by looking at your pic, you are still trying to to the timing marks with the valve cover on, and showingus a picture the is not 90 degrees off of the head.( we are looking at it at a angle)

Crank sprocket is fine.
Oil pump looks off. Make sure this is in phase if you still have balance shafts (looks like you do).
Cams are off.

Make sure to line the cams up (use two 17mm wrenches), put the belt over the top, and check the marks before moving on. Then work your way clockwise around the timing components.

snowborder, if you look at the gear sline that the arrow is on carefully, you can see that the oil pump is lined up right. it is just the ANGLE of the pics

Yes I agree with the angle throwing it off. My first thought was that the oil pump was off as well but took a better look and realized the angle. The exhaust cam gear is off tho.

Edit: wow I type slow.

the exhaust cam gear looks to be a tooth off. i just retimed my car recently, and realized everytime i lined the cam gears up and then tensioned the belt, it would rotate the exhaust cam gear and make it off 1 tooth, so i had to line them up again, and turn the exhaust mark 1 tooth past the intake gear and put the belt back on,and then when i tensioned the belt it lined up perfect. but that was just my experience. i dont know if anyone else has had this trouble.

This what I was just going to say. Remember that the cam gears have to be about a tooth off in the opposite direction since when you tighten (torque) the tensioner pulley it will rotate the belt CW a bit and THEN the cams will line up. :thumb:
