Wondering if the bottoms rubber bushing with dowel parts are replaceable on shocks or not? Yonaka coilover company says you cant replace then out. But i would not understand how cant buy a new bushing to replace with. And press the old one out?? Any help or insight would be great..

I've looked for bushings for stock struts and had no luck. I ended up just buying pourable polyurethane and making my own. I also had several bad motor mounts at the time which I did in polyurethane at the same time so it was well worth the cost. You may have an issue if you don't have the metal center sleeve for the one on the left since you need that to re-use with making your own poly bushings

Sounds good, appreciate the insight on that there.. i have extra stock oem struts i can steal a metal center from, and i measured and they seem to be exact same sized metal center i can take from those parts ones so no issue there . I actually was thinking of that also making poly inserts for a bushing and using the metal centers actually also..

i already got all prothane poly engine mounts but i mayswell still make some for the shocks. Better then buying replacement coilovers when theyre perfectly fine over not having aftermarket bushing availability

the metal sleeve is a bonded part. if you made your own you have to stop them from moving and sliding about! its critical that it does not move. but should be doable though

Probably no replacement ones for stock shocks out there eh? They are same size and dimensions as these yonaka bushing too.. I wonder if when make the poly inserts to press in there i could try to get the metal piece inserted and also mend with it.. or this may sound ghetto maybe jb weld would make a strong enough seal or like plumbers glue you would use to harden pvc pipe together with.. to make the metal part have 0 play at all

When I did mine I poured the polyurethane right into the eye on the strut with a little overlap on each edge to make a lip. Sand the inside of the eye and the outside of the sleeve with 40 grit or 32 grit to help the poly have something to grab as it sets up. The ones I did never came loose or had any issues. Was a street/strip and not a road race or rally car so if you are doing that the longevity of the repair may not be as good as I'm sure that type of driving put a lot more stress on the bushings

On my old Emusa (Generic EBay Coilovers) I found the closest diameter polyurethane bushings from Energy suspension and sanded them down a bit to fit snug. And I believe the metal sleeve that came with it was the correct size as well. Been a few years but it’s been working fine for me

Thats good news.. do you know which bushing it may have possibly been from the kit that matched?
I’ll have to look back at my emails. I think I might have a digital receipt from autozone. Not sure if your coils have the same inner diameter for the bushing but doesn’t hurt to try right 😅
