My car came with a GReddy Profec-B spec 2 and I'm just trying to figure out how to use it. I want to put the boost back to stock or relatively stock (car has a 16g) until i get my timing done.

P.S. I didn't know if this should go in the engine mods, turbo, or tuning but i decided on tuning

And one other thing in the second photo there's a cut out near the shift boost with a bunch of crud in it (its clean now) what is it used for? I cant find a use LOL

You can turn off the unit by pressing the "select" button for more than 2 seconds. If everything is installed properly, the boost pressure would be the stock. (Gate pressure)
Please refer the manual below.

On the manual cars it was a small coin tray. Back in the day when these cars were new it could hold enough to pay a toll but not anymore.

I was thinking the same thing, looked like a coin tray. As far as the profec B.. they are honestly kind of a pain to dial in. I have used one for almost 7 years now and I remember it took lots of pulls to set up the gain, target boost etc but once it is dialed it its amazing switching between hi and low boost. HINT: I spent some time at first thinking I had a bad solenoid once because of boost spike etc and turns out I had a boost leak. So IMO first thing you should do is do a boost leak THEN set up the controller.

I thought about that first but at the same moment I thought that the OP wouldn't ask if it was just a coin tray.

On the autos that's where the normal/econ switch goes as you noted and they needed something to fill the hole on the manual cars so, coin tray...

All it was really good for was rattling,
Yeah I was reading too much into what the OP asked. Thought he was seeing some wires come from that.

Honestly right now i just want the boost turned down so my car doesn't blow up then just using it as an additional boost gauge once i get a tune.

Maybe i could try and get a switch or something 3d printed to replace the coin holder
