Anyone else dissappointed in their SS DNP tubular exhaust manifold?

I kinda wish I had gone with a better manifold like Punishment or Trust. I am fine with the quality of it. It is very well put together and I have had no issues with cracking etc. It being discolored like any ss exhaust manifold is kinda a bummer but oh well. It flows pretty well, and opens up after around 5500 rpms. I think the actual tubes are kinda small and the collector is just so so. It sure was a pain in the ass to thermal wrap. :talon:

What do you expect with trying to squeeze all that plumbing in a confined space for a mitsu turbine housing?

If you want space between runners, switch to a Garrett turbine housing in t3 or t4 for a tubular manifold.

You could do the same for a mitsu turbo, but most want to retain the turbo in the OEM location for bolt on exhausts. Unfortunately, that puts limitations on the radius of the bend coming off the head flange to be able to turn the exhaust flow up so that it can be directed down the neck of the turbocharger.

I need to get a sponsor to continue modding it like I want to. Haha. I guess at this point, I'm not really caring if the turbo gets moved to a different position. But to be realistic, I need to break down and buy DSMLink and get to tuning instead of new parts etc. I guess I can't even tell anymore if the car is running lean or rich. I'm not quite sure what it is that has me spooked about engine management but something does. I guess I should quit harping on the DNP manny as it is now fully wrapped and kinda looks neat that way. Kinda old school badass. I guess m goal right now is to see where the FP BigT28 takes me, max it out hopefully without breaking anything catastrophically. Later on, a different manifold like the Punishment racing ones and a different turbo. I was thinking maybe a gt25ball bearing turbo. Should still be great for autocross and do great at the drag strip and be a terror on the drive to work. I guess I think the DNP exhaust manifold should be more than enough for the T28.
