XO2 Tubular Exhaust Manifold

Stock 2g Manifold Runners = 3.5cm

Stock 2g Manifold with Centric Ring = 5cm

Stock 2g Manifold Ported to eliminate ring = 5.5cm

So it's specs are a mildy ported 2g collector, with stock sized runners.

I'm sure theres enough material to port it to your custom specs if you need it to be bigger.

Right now it is perfect for a stock head and 16g turbo

I'll let you know when I get mine

Yea i ordered the o2 housing from megan, it just hadn't shipped in yet. I have a lot of parts to add to that stack before I install them tho.

I'd be more concerned about bolting that megan downpipe to your stock o2 housing.. it doesn't work

I talked to the ppl at Megan and they are gonna make a revised downpipe (v3) next year

Get a tubular o2 (for it to fit) if you haven't already.. then your exhaust setup will be exactly the same as mine, minus the catback

Alright well I just got mine...

Definetly needs some porting

Stock collector = size of the 2g after porting of the ring (5.5cm), will be transitioning mine out to a full 6cm (7cm^2)

Stock runners = same height as stock 2g manifold (3.5cm), width is short a few mm than stock (Less then 5cm).

Will be port matching the runners to the head

Also, did anybody elses manifold come kinda greasy? I gotta make sure all of that is gone before I start it, that could possibly be why it turns brown

Not to mention the two top studs of cylinders 3 + 4 hit the runners, after I was assured by Xo2 that they wouldn't. Will need to trim the studs a bit.

Would also like to mention that the turbo to manifold bolts they give you are the wrong pitch, and don't work

Ideas on who sells hardened or heat treated bolts?

horahh for NAPA studs....I used them on my subaru turbo, downpipe, and such. Its greasy from polishing I believe

Oh and I will be port matching also, the flange entrance is smaller than the actual primary tube so thats not that big of a deal

And im liking the supports they put under each runner, well have to see how they will hold up!!

You cant port match it to a stock 2g exhaust mani gasket, but you can port match it to stock 2g runners

The collector should be no big deal opening up to 7cm^2 (6cm)

I ran this manifold for almost a year and a half. the only complaint I have is whe it did fianlly start to change colors like all the stainless manifolds do, it turned into more of a rust look instead of the pretty goldish-purple look like the dnp gets. It never did crack and it fit up perfect.

Anthony

Was that EGT tap already welded in when it came or did you do that yourself?

Damn...what about the mani gasket you get with the manifold??

The gasket it comes with matches the 2g runners perfectly, and you can easily port it to match that.. it already does match it somewhat

Stock 2g head exhaust port size = 5cm wide, 3.5cm tall
Stock 2g manifold exhaust port size = 5cm wide, 3.5cm tall
Xo2 Tubular = Roughly 4.5-5cm wide, 3.3-3.5cm tall

So with some very minor port shaping you can get the tubular runners to match the head perfectly ;)

And theres plenty of material at the collector to leave it at 5.5cm (6cm^2) to match 16g's, or port it to 6cm (7cm^2) to match bigger turbos

So infact the manifold isn't as much of a failure as those might of thought

what kind of bits are you gona use for the porting???

That collector looks like absolute garbage.

in person it doesnt look to bad....besides it didnt cost an arm and a leg. Maybe its not for some people, but for me it is a well welded piece, with improved flow over stock, and it was affordable.

I'm not trying to irrationally hate or anything but that collector looks like it'll flow less than a ported stocker.

Maybe you should buy one and look for yourself

The tubes don't neckdown and the welds aren't globby like the poor lighting/angle picture depicts.

BTW, wanted to update

Cleaned the manifold off really nice with some microfibers before starting car

Manifold is now golden, no signs of brown anywhere

I've seen the manifolds that are floating around on ebay in person (the ssauto and the xs power) and neither of them had collectors that looked that mangled. I'm guessing it's a crazy angle because of it isn't then it's not going to flow very well.

It will turn brown eventually. The discoloration is due to the incredibly thin stainless steel from numerous heat cycles.

The only tubular manifold I've ever seen that hasn't discolored in it's polished form was a full-race manifold and the piping was about 4 - 5 mm thick opposed to these which are .2 - .25 mm thick.

Incredibly thin stainless? Why don't you get one and see for yourself before you make ignorant statements.

And btw, its made from SUS321, not 304 like most other mani's *cough* DNP

First of all you must have missed that last post where I explained that I have had personal experience with a couple of these. Second I import parts from products for a living, don't assume I'm the one being ignorant fool. I have exact specifications for manifolds made from ssauto's and xspowers manufacturer and that is exactly how thin the manifold's runner tubes are.

SS321 does have better integrity at higher temperatures but in the end it's the thin metal that leads to cracking, not the material type.

Well I went for a little ride, not boosting much and when I came back my manifold was BLUE! Normal? LOL

It'll first turn blue/purple until the polish wears off and then it'll start to discolor.

I don't really want to argue about it but since you have it on your car you'll experience everything previously mentioned first hand :thumb:
