Are my RC 1000 good for e85 some one just said this to me...
Yeah but in order to run e85 you will be maxing those out really quick. A buddy of mine ran 1800cc injectors at 98% duty cycle at 30psi. That was almost maxing them out. I'm telling, go bigger. You're gonna hate yourself when you max them out at 20lbs and hit fuel cut

Im not entirely knowledgeable on the way e85 and injector duty cycle, but im pretty sure to be maxing out 1800s at 30psi, must be running some major turbo.

I know some people are pushing 400+ on 950cc injectors, and maxing those out, so to max out the 1800s are ridiculous.... Most people ive talked to and read, have all said 1200 to 1600 for a reasonable turbo on e85 is fine

Just my basic knowledge of reading through the forums

running 1800 cc injectors to 98% duty cycle with e-85 would require a MONSTER turbo

1200 cc injectors are good to around 450-500 depending on the turbo/motor combo.

1800 would be nearing to 650-750 hp area depending on fuel pressure and every thing else that goes with it ( compression, timing, pressure, air flow )

so on my t28 turbo RC 1000 should be ok? I was told they are perfect.. Im not going for more than 400hp in the end

yeah it would, but im sure out of all of us there would be some slowing us down that wanna go fast through them turns, so for some i forsee it being a disapointment, and it would def suck if we got stuck behind some normal car that just wants to go the speed limit and wont pull over and let us by.

the last time i was playing out there with the VR4 me and this other car were haulin AZZ through there man! it was SOOO fun because i was on his azz the whole time haha he was trying soo hard to get away put i was always hanging with him, what was hilarious is how when both of us would get behind some stupid random car that was in the way, we kept putting pressure on them and kept making people pull to the side and let us both pass haha i was like dam i love this!
FYI, this post was reported for street racing, and though it doesn't fit the normal mold of a street racing post, I can see how it would be viewed that way by some. Let's be careful talking about stuff like this, and more importantly, be safe out there at DSM meets guys.

Think twice before letting your adrenaline get the best of you on public roads. It could easily end badly for you and/or someone else. I'd hate to read about a tragedy that happened at a DSM meet because a few people (or even just one person) couldn't practice self control. Have fun but don't be doing stuff that puts yourself and others in danger out there. If you really enjoy driving fast in the canyons, go to a NASA event to test your skills and the limits of the car. Doing that on a public puts lives at risk, not to mention the reputation of DSMers and car guys in general.

On a t28, im pretty sure you will be fine with 1000cc injectors... and if your only going for 400, if the 1000cc were acting up then you could do a 1200 and be fine with em (just my opinion anyways)

1000cc is the minimum i would run if even thinking of E-85, they will get you to 400 hp, your duty cycles will be in the 80-90 range but still 10% from going static probably.

your goal is about the same as mine, but i went with a 20g and 1200cc injectors

some one help me out here...

all i know is at 17 psi on the 20g im running 58-62% DC all the way to redline with average "HP" readings from dsmlink in the 300-330 range depeding on the road i'm on

that takes some mad skill there

actually i would like a cookie, so when you come down to bring it, try not to get a ticket....

odd it took 2 posts to get your point across... and it would have to be Petty Officer, highest rank i got

Yeah i would, better be a box of thin mints since your getting picky

1000cc injectors and E85 will be enough to support the amount of airflow that t28 can push, even if you do try to get 30psi out of that thing. Back in the day when I made the conversion I bought 950's, which on E85 are really 630cc injectors that can't support much more than a 16g. Once I got my car up on the dyno and turned the boost up to 30psi my HTA68 airflow was 47lbs/min and my IDC's were 105%! I turned my base fuel pressure up to 50psi and got some injector back, now I'm logging about 95% IDC which is still too high but it works.

A few weeks ago I got a box from FIC that had a set of 2150's in it. No more ridiculously high IDC's because of my baby injectors.

:dsm:

Those are not going to be fun to get to idle, but the max of 50-55% IDC will be fun

a little leaning out and smoothing of the VE table and Boom car idles solid 800 rpm, and turbo response is through the roof, i dropped spool time by 200 rpm by leaning the ve table out properly at cruiseing rpm ( stft was adding 14% fuel and it couldnt keep up )

The 2150's are high impedance (delete the resistor pack) so they actually idle like stock 450's, even without the FIC Easy Tune Box. :p

The Red Dragon is Kris' 1g, I've got El Diablo and it will still see the drive to work everyday as long as it can move on its own.

sorry for the misunderstanding, but sounds to good to be tru. now I know what to spend *** bucks on when I'm finished with the brake in. car is back to road worthy status. Thx for everyone that have me some time and helped me get tom back on the road after a year long hibernation. I'm very happy with how the car turned out.

Well let me know when your in town, and i will get you some arbys
