So now that I don't have a heat shield for my manifold I need to find a way to get my engine temps down. Im still going to try and mod a heat shield.

I decided to make a cheap hood vent and since my girlfriends an architect major I let her help me a lot :)

Its coming out pretty decent so far. I'm thinking ill have a piece of metal on the sides where the gaps are. I may get it welded on, we will see tomorrow.

So here are a few pictures. Remember that it isn't finished just yet. Also I'm not really going for looks I just want some heat out of the engine bay.

Im also thinking about installing a fan/fans to pull out the air through these vents so that heat is coming out at all times.

I've seen a lotta pictures of hood vents and they are normnally horrid looking, but you deffienently impressed me. Those look done rather well, and i appriciate the design.

One suggestion though, if I were you I would make some type of inserts or covers to block off the hood vents for when it rains, something that you can easily remove and install. Beyond that, keep up the good work!
