my ACT pressure plate fingers broke off, it even made a hole in my transmission. but my main concern is where the TOB located at, the finger made a deep scratches all the way around. I don't know if the transmission is still good I tried sanding it just to take the TOB out. you can see it in the pictures.

Can anybody help me? I dont want to put the clutch in yet if the tranny is not good... Thanks

The tob usually stops right around that point. Try assembling the tob on the shaft and moving it back and fourth like I would once its all hooked up and see how much play you have or if its getting hung up. I had the same exact thing happen to me except the shaft was not damage I just had 5 fingers come off during driving and went to grab the next gear and took out a syncro or 2. What disk were you running when this happened? I was using a 6 puck unsprung and I have heard of quite a few failures with that set up.

Thanks for the reply, Its not a 6 puck and it has spring in it. TOB is not getting hung up and looks like the play goes all the way out and in. What about the hole on the tranny, should i cover it up with jb weld or is that good running it like that?

Well that sleeve is replaceable. Also I would not JB weld the trans. You can just take it somewhere and have it welded properly. Hopefully the hole isn't from something coming out of the inside causing your current issue.

how can I replace that sleeve/ looks like its attach to the tranny itself. do I need a new bell housing? the hole is where the starter located at.

If your looking to get another clutch. Get a south bend clutch. 2700 pound pressure plate but feels like a 2600. Super nice and hasn't busted yet on my friends 400+ DSM.

I'm on a budget on a moment, I'll try XTD stage 3 we'll see where it goes... I might need to buy a HG and ARP bolts.

The Hole in the Tranny is not a big deal.

If you have the peace remaining, just weld it, you don't need to disassemble it, It can be done like that.
If you want to go cheap,,,, Just cover it with something like Masking tape or some sore of that, It's just to avoid from rocks, bolts or some sore of that gets inside the bell housing.

For the sleeve, check for the TOB to fit there, If it slides freely, leave it as is, there shouldn't be a problem which the damage is at the end of the sleeve.

For you to make sure its OK, Install the TOB, install the arm and move it back and forward, Go all the way and see if the TOB gets stuck. If you feel like it is not moving freely, grind or sand only the area where is bad until it gets a smooth slide.

Hope that helps.

Do not put another TOB on the sleeve and hope for the best, you need to replace it. The TOB must slide straight and smooth to release the clutch, dont be a cheap ass and just let it slide or you will be pulling that transmission again soon

You go cheap, you get cheap. Nuff said

Thanks for the info, just bought it, now how to install that? I'd search and no luck. Have you done this before? Is it straight forward? If i need to disassemble the tranny should i get the gasket also fo it?

I'm taking about the Retainer sleeve replacement. but I search it again and it says that its only for AWD tranny that can change it?

Yours is not replaceable.

Use something like quiksteel or similar and sand it down to fit and slide on and off with little hand pressure.
Metal Repair Epoxy Putty from Loctite Adhesives

Also, do not EVER use anything but OEM for TOB's. Might want to replace the clutch fork/pivot ball, just for insurance. Also inspect the main crank seal.

thanks for the info, I did search something that only AWD tranny can be changeable but not the FWD. I'll try your advice thanks. and also, I am using the OEM TOB.

Shoot, I guess I didn't realize you were FWD. Sorry dude, you're SOL. Better just polish it up as much as possible and verify that your TOB isn't gonna hang up.
