This stuff is unbelievably frustrating. I cannot figure out how to get my SS oil return line kit together. I tried taping the end and cutting it with a dremel, but the inside rubber hose started melting and smoking from the friction. I tried a circular saw, and that butchered the threads. I cannot get it in the shape I need to put on the aeroquip fittings. Can someone shed some light on the proper way to assemble this stupid shit?

I found the tape suggestion to not work worth a crap for me when I did mine this past weekend. My dremel would just catch slightly and splay the mesh out a bit and the tape just couldn't keep it together enough.

In a thread I read on here someone suggested a hose clamp and this is what I found to work perfectly. I put a hose clamp exactly where I needed to cut, then I simply cut right next to it. Hose clamp kept the mesh from fraying. I just carefully loosened the hose clamp, slid it out of the way, and immediately jammed the line into the an fitting. Just verify your whole line, mesh and all, is jsut about the right diameter and is going fit (with your help) into the end of hte fitting, and push it all in. Once you're pushing you can push and twist at the same time to get it to work into the fitting. Worked perfectly.
