hey,
my question is how the hell do you put them together??? I have never used AN fittings, and its got me baffled, I am trying to install the tank to filter fuel kit from sbr, and everytinme I try and tighten it down, the line just slips out, so if someone could giev me a tutoruial w/ some pics possibly, and tell me how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated as it has me stumped...
Thanks,
Evan

thanks for the help guys

to black94 - I am looking at your post right now, (dont know how I missed it, tech articles was first place I looked...) that should clear up most of my problems, I havent got to see all of it with the pics yet though (56k sucks balls) but I appreciate it

to daren - I honestly do not know, just whatever brand of stuff slowboy uses??? I just bought the kit, because I didnt know what all I would need, and didnt like the sounds of trial and error on my suel system....

but thanks again guys...

Make sure the tape is tight, here is how I did it.

Use electrical tape and wrap it tight around the hose twice clockwise if you are looking straight at the hose opening.

Then wrap electrical tape counter clockwise tight 5 times or so.

Cut the hose in the middle of the electrical tape, I use a chop saw with a metal blade.

After you cut the hose remove the 2nd layer of electrical tape, leave the first layer on the hose.

Unscrew the 2 peices of the fiting.

Take the first part of the fitting (the part that goes on the outside of the hose, not the inside) and
spray some silicone spray on the inside of the fitting

Slide the fiting onto the hose once its on push it down against something hard (bench clamp) so the hose is all the way in the fitting.

Put the hose and the fitting in the bench clamp, clamp the fiting into the bench clamp but not to tight, about a 1/4 of an inch or so of the fitting should be sticking out of the bench clamp.

Spray silicone spray onto the 2nd peice of the fiting (the part that goes inside the hose)

Have someone hold the hose against the fiting as you screw the 2nd peice of the fiting into the hose/fiting. Once you get it started use a wrench to make it tight.

Once the fitings are tight remove the hose/fiting from the bench clamp and try and pull the fitting off of the hose. It shouldnt budge.

All AN fitting manufacturers recommend against leaving any tape on the hose. If installed correctly, there is absolutely no reason to need to leave tape on the end.

Thanks guys, I finally got it, had to cut it alot, but I eventually got it, and had plenty left to make it reach... alot easier once I figured out what I was doing, but still more complicated than I had originally anticipated
