I must say, despite your nonsensical yammerings, your setup is coming along nicely. I especially like those pipes. They look so much better than the hacked, pieced together pipes you usually see in turbocharged 420As.


By the way, keep picture sizes to 700x700pixels or less.

I would probably be more leary about the turbo and BOV. The wastegates should be fine from what I have read numerous times. I just ordered that mani last week so I should hopefully be getting it this week. Can't wait so I can finally use my ext. wastegate I have been holding off on for like 2 months now.

I've been told by a few others that the Ebay turbo's are pretty nice. some people are using them on drag cars and abusing the shit out of them. I'm kinda leary on the BOV... the HKS bov I can push open... I cannot push the Tial open!

looks very nice, the only problem i myself have experienced with that particular turbo is , the chra came loose from the turbine housing and was some how binding the wheel up and it pretty much ruined the turbine wheel. but maybe that was a freak thing, i hear other people running them with no problems.

I know a guy who had the compressor side shatter in his engine bay around 27psi. (trim/model unknown at this point)

He had shrapnel in his radiator, oil ines, battery, IC piping, etc. I wouldn't trust an eBay turbo on a go kart. Oh well. Have fun with it I guess.

How long does the turbo have till the oil reaches the turbo before it starts to fail? Cause I just had to move the car out of the garrage and the car was running for about 2 minutes... a little bit of rpm but not much... I just felt the compressor side and it felt a tiny bit loose... Maybe this is the breakin period? No? I had no choice if I want to make more money to fix up the car I had to pull my car out and another car in. And the bolts I got were a thread size too big, so the bolts are kinda really snug on there... I can't get it to break open. So I didn't want to deal with it.

I will. The setup was cheap. And I now have a spare HKS SSQBOV that I'm selling so if the turbo goes, I can get another one. The Turbo, HKS BOV and Tial Wastegate was only 380 bucks or so. So if the turbo starts to go (which I will be checking up on it periodicly) I'll go and get a nice Garrett T3/T4. There's a bad ass .70 trim or something close to that at a local shop for 400 bucks! brand new!

Your tellin Me. This stuff is going on my 95 RS... Not my 98. I have them on my 98 right now cause its my baby... the 95 is the beater. I plan on gettin another ebay treadstone manifold for the 98 but the turbo and wastegate are going to be real shit! I still will get the XSPower Intercooler kit... cause that shit is just too nice! But I'll get a real garrett Turbo for the 98 and a nice wastegate. But I will let you know about everything that goes on.

Actually, DSMCrazy3 has been rocking the Treadstone mani for about 1.5 months now and it's holding up good. I actually have mine on order (the cheaper AutoSquare kind) that looks exactly like the Treadstone one. I'm sure me and Josh will compare the two manifolds when mine gets here to see if there is a difference at all and if the Treadstone is worth the extra 100 bucks.

I knew that, but im specifically refering to the ebay special. (or the one sold by autosquare)

I think this is how it goes:
Treadstone knocked off the star manifold
Autosquare then essentially created a "double knockoff" from the treadstone manifold.

It will be interesting to see if the quality follows this pattern:
Star>Treadstone>Autosquare(ebay)

Everything is looking pretty good. I'd be careful with the turbo though. Just not worth cheaping out on something like that. I suggest you double check EVERYthing after that last post.
