Hey get stage one and Save money for other things.Get a intercooler from Ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=7943817526&category=33742 take the saved money and get boost controller .You will be boosting the same as the guys with stage two and be stealth as well and would have SAVED BIG TIME.

Bad advice..

Are you trying to kill him with heatsoak or something with that stock POS intercooler? Don't waste your money or time with that crap...

The FMIC from hahn is awesome buy the stage two kit with FMIC and you won' regret it. Don't tell him to buy a boost controller with a stage one and stock bottom end either

Mods we need a sticky that tells what Psi you can run on a 420a stock bottom end...Too many people ask the same question over and over again

Just gave him some ADVICE from what i have done .No problems here :dsm: :thumb: :dsm:

Sorry for sounding like an ass, but I hate to see people buy turbo kits and don't understand that our bottom end is not made to handle boost without forged internals...

Please do your self a favor and spend the extra bit of money on something other than JE pistons. Ive seen several cars that all have cold piston slap cause they call for a slightly larger bore to compensate for their expansion rate.

Some people say they have no problems, but many do.

One DSMer said "JE pistons are like McDonalds. You know its not good for you, but people still get it anyways".

Wiseco pistons are only about $200 more and will very possibly save you lots of headaches.

I haved owned three DSM's (one 420a and two 4g63t) and they all have had JE and no problems....

i think im just gonna swap the n/t for a turbo motor. i have a talon esi what u think? i was thinking of getting a 1g turbo to put in it. someone told me thier stronger. should i just stick with the 2g motor or what? thanks.

Good luck on getting it mounted. ..

Read some info on it and youll see that there is a reason people dont do it. You dont have the driver and passenger motor mount in the right place, the engine wireing harness and ECU all have to be changed. All the lines for stuff like power steering, coolant, etc. have to be changed.

Anything can be done, but not everything should be done.

so its a better idea just to get a 2g turbo motor form a TSi?

No, Its better to get a 2g TSi.

The 420a doesnt mount in the engine bay the same way.

If you want a 4g63, sell your car and buy one that has it in it already. If you just want to have a turbo, get the kit or buy a TSi/GSX

-Dallas J

soo your telling me that if i were to find a tsi motor that i wouldnt be able to put it in a esi car. cuz i did end up finding a mistubishi eclipse turbo car and but it was crashed. i was planning on using it for parts i could prolly get it for like 800 im sure hes seling it for 1200.

OK, I'll say this one more time. The motor doesnt MOUNT in the engine bay at the same locations. You cant just unbolt the body mount from one car and put it in the other, its spot welded in.

I guess It would be possible to drill out the spot welds, reweld it back into the ESi, and then bolt it all in that way. But you would probably have less troubles fixing that totaled Eclipse.

Donor motor, car, seat, or mom.. It doesnt matter, its not economically viable to do that.

I agree with Dallas, do one or the other..

I ended up buying a 1G GSX for my daily driver and now I just use my 420A for a drag/track car ;) . I only paid like 2k for AWD Turbo that is already built :dsm:

im not doing this myself i dont have the smarts to do it or the tools. thats why im going to have a shop put it in for me if i do. i unerstand what ur saying. but i want to put a tsi motor in it. I have talked to lots and lots of people and they say i can do it. but for some reason u tell me differnt. But im trusting you more then i trust them. money is not the issue i just need to know if its possible. i cant buy a new car again ma dad just baught this car for me and it has 80,000 miles on it. and i dont think he would appresiate it if i sold it and baught a new one. I would get bitched at for years if i just went a baught a new car like that. and plus its not that easy for me. the best possible thing i can think of is just getting a whole new tsi engine. please dont get frusterated with me. im gonna do that but what do i gotta do to do that thats all i want to know. thanks

here is another idea. is their any other type of motor i can put in this car some kind of powerfull motor that would fit in my car.

Well I cant help with how your gonna bolt that engine in, but I can tell you that for the money your looking to spend a 1g play car sounds like an awfull better Idea.

Its gonna cost you a crap load to do the swap (with welding, cutting, parts, supplies, labor. Figure at least 7k) I doubt it will cost less than that, but it will probably cost more.

All of that for stock performance? Might as well build up the 420a, turbo and good engine management. At least then you could be deep into the 12s.

I'm not going to fix your post...
I'm going to politely ask you to LOOK AT YOUR KEYBOARD and make sure your hitting the key that is required to type out the word your wanting to spell correctly.

This would help alot of people read your post and not get a migrane.

Thank you

^^^ hahaha... but yeah man, dallas knows what he is talking about. since you are not doing any of the work, labor will be a huge amount of $$$. its pretty much pointless to do the swap like he said to just be as fast as a stock turbo. you could easily have the hahn stage II kit and everything in your motor fully built for the price you would end up paying.... thus being able to boost higher and not worry about blowing anything.

I'm suprised people have been so nice and have not said SEARCH yet.. but I think you might find out many answers by doing a little searching :thumb:

Ive been doin research and from my findings, itll cost you a lil less than 5g to get, stage 2 w/ FMIC, built bottom end, 3 inch catback exhaust, stage 2 clutch. This is stuff ive been looking for and alotta the stuff from hahn is the cheapest prices ive been able to find. correct me if im wrong though. but you may wanna increas your fuel system to, SAFC and bigger injectors. If you gusy have found it cheaper lemme know ill be very appreciative :thumb: good luck :thumb:
