Last season I replaced my timing belt and around January I noticed a leak from the timing belt area. The water pump was spitting out water and I found the culprit to be the bolt that holds the alternator bracket through the water pump had backed out completely. My question is what could have caused it to come loose so fast? I followed factory torque specs, should I just redo the gasket and use thread lock this time? Any hints I do not want to do this a third time.

That would be your best bet man, mine did the same thing i just got a new water pump and gasket. It has been good for about 6k now. :hellyeah:

p.s. no leaks either

How old is the water pump? If you don't mind me asking.

the old water pump got trashed its so cheap for a new one I just went for it while doing the timing belt job.

Ok i see well you never know maybe it just wiggled its self loose WTF. Like you were saying i would just lock tight it, blue lock tight. :thumb:
