the bracket that bolts on the water pump and is also connected to the alternator broke. previous owner swapped motors and i guess he broke it. does anyone know the name of the part and if i have to go to the dealership and order it.

thanks a lot!

Mitsu calls it the generator brace (alt brace) but get it at a used place or have it welded/brased if you want to save $. Make sure the bolt that holds it onto the pump is 8x65 torqued to 17 ft-lb. Many use too short a bolt and strip the threads. Might want to put some thread lock (not permanent) on it too.

thanks guys! would you guys know any online places besides the dsm graveyard (if they even have it) to obtain this part used? can it also be bought at the dealership or local car parts store. seriously i just want to get this fixed ASAP no matter the price or used/new! water keeps leaking on the timing belt causing it too sound like a wet screech and its pretty loud.

you guys wouldnt have any pictures of how it should look? im trying to research it in google and im getting back all different kind of views.

Use loctite blue threadlocker, red is impossible to get off...

I just ordered one from miller importparts he is a vendor on here believe his user name is stangmudera and I got the part super quick, for cheap, and in good shape. Couldn't beat it, also you can probably get your welded if it needs to be done quick.
