When i lock my doors the security light will come on for about 30 seconds and then shuts off, i have tried everything to make the alarm go off ... It is broken along with my horn. I Heard that there is a relay in the drivers door, could that be the problem? The lights dont flash nothing happens when the alarm should go off!!! OMG :dsm:

The alarm is not very sensitive. Try rolling down the window, set the alarm, then reach in the window, push the unlock button and open the door. The horn should be sounding and lights flashing by now.

The security light should go off after a few seconds. That's normal.

If you already tried this I am sorry, but this would be all I know to do.

If you're referring to an alarm that goes off by itself then the following may help. If not... I need a better description of the actual complaint.
-
There's a service bulletin about the door ajar switches going bad. There is a single phillips screw holding it in the door jam. If you remove the screw and find there to be heavy corrosion on the switch and the area of the door jam UNDER the switch then you will need to replace the switch and depending on the level of corrosion, replace a section of the wiring too.
-
The other area may be with the hood. I'm not exactly sure if the hoods on these things have an ajar switch but on some vehicles there are. They were found to be too sensitive and would allow the switch to change states if the wind blew the hood up ever so slightly. Repair required adjusting the hood stops to a position that allowed the hood to sit just a little bit lower than before.

If your complaint is not anything related to the things I mentioned then we will need more details.

i had the same problem about a year ago. there us a switch on the side of your door that turns on the light when you open the door. if it goes out or has a short it will screw up you entire alarm system, ect... i just unplugged mine and have not had the problem for over a year. i remember driving down the highway and the alarm would just start going off and i was pulled over twice thinking i had stolen the car. hope this helps.
