Moncton,
Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket valve covers for the 4g63? I have been searching high and low, found some older threads saying there isn't any but figured I would make a new thread incase something has come up.
I bought 3 talons and everyone had a cracked vc. These things are thin as paper and I don't feel like spending money having one fixed, bungs for a catch setup welded on just to have the stupid thing crack when I tighten it down with an extension and my hand.
If any engine needs an aftermarket vc it is ours...
Please don't tell me not to tighten it so hard, you look at these things and they crack..WTF

You should have posted it in the thread you found.

No there are no aftermarket covers. As you don't want to hear, don't tighten so hard. I go hand tight and then just snug it with a nut driver.

The closest you will get is the 95+/- elantra vc which is twice as thick. If you find one, make sure you get ALL the screws, as they are a bit taller.

Well since that thread was from 06 I didn't want to dig it back up.

Thank you sir, that is definately a turn in the right direction! From the searching I have been doing, people were saying they were all the same except for the bolt holes.

It's always better to re use an old thread than make a new one if it pertains to your question. :thumb:

I think along ago BJ's use to make these valve covers right here. Took this pic from the link forums. Some guy bought it off his friend that had it sitting around

Yeah that's the one I wish I had. Sickest valve cover ever. I'd give more than I have to have that VC.

4 Inch Grinder, Sand Paper, Files, Paint of anysort or Powder coating.

all tools to make a nice valve cover, I don't think anyone makes Aftermarket ones, but I know some people make Custom ones, but they are still the stock valve cover only modified.

I personally like the Shaved and Flat black valve cover look.
