Can anyone explain the proess to me, i researched on the forums and everything is vague. i bought it off a friend brand new but he lost the instructions. So i have to weld a new spot in the exhaust for a new input for this sensor? Then connect the hot and ground. But what about the white and greens wires that i get, that i guess looks like they go into the ecu? Any help would be great.

the white wire is used for DSMLINK or any kind of data logging you want to do. The blue wire you can just cover and never use. But if you're only using the gauge itself and no logging cover both the white and blue wire and just connect the red and black to power and ground (i use the ECU power and ground) and you'll be good to go. Make sure you watch the video though. He's very thorough in telling you how to install it in any vehicle.

Read page 8 of the link posted above...or just open up your owners manual and skim through it. Normally, the recommended length down stream of the "exhaust port" is 18". This is ideal for NON-BOOSTED cars. Vtec Honda's and the latter.

However, if you will be expecting to see HIGH EGT's (casued by a TURBO, RACE GAS, or HIGH RPMS for EXTENDED PERIODS OF TIME - think drift cars) of around 1500º F, or more, place it 36" downstream of the exhaust housing so it doesn't overheat. Keep in mind, it MUST be mounted BEFORE the catalytic converter in order to function properly.

Make sure the sensor's "nose" is pointed down (in the manual they call for a, minimum, mounting angle of 10º above horizontal with the electrical connection upwards) so no contaminants are able to damage it at any time, i.e. cold starts or ignition shut down.
 
Ok got everything hooked up right but I'm concerned on the readings I'm getting. I have it hooked up right after the flex part btw. Well at idle my gauge reads --- and it's red sometimes it says 17.8. Well at normal cruising it's between 14.4 and 15.0 and at WOT it's at 10.8 constant and it's green. What does this mean? I'm running on a keydiver basemap for my mods and bfp is 43.5. By the way I've been noticing when I go from 2nd to 3rd my knocksum gauge goes haywire and my car pulls timing like crazy
 
Well that would mean you are running lean at idle. Im not sure about the AEM but the Innovative wideband needs calibrated before use. And then about every other month after that. You may need to calibrate it.
 
How the hell would u calibrate something with no buttons on it at all LOL. Yea and i was doing research on the numbers i get at WOT they look pretty good, but yes the idle and low rpms are scaring me a bit. any ideas?
 
You calibrate the innovative wide band by taking the o2 sensor out of the pipe so it is exposed to fresh air and then grounding the calibration wire for 3 seconds.
Again, I'm not sure about the AEM. You may NOT have to calibrate those.
As for being a little lean at idle, do you have something to tune you car with other than the chip?
 
I always love the manufacturers tech pages, and their FAQ's. Very supportive. Like when you buy an Aeromotive A1000 and burn three of them up due to vapor lock.
