Did that 90* elbow from Lowes coming off your turbo, Blow out yet? I had at least 5 of those already on my t04b, And from getting hott or something, And the pressure goin through it, I blew them all out 1 after the other. It blows out on the outer side of the u bend, Right in the middle. :(

Chris you started on your intercooler yet?

nah not yet. the rest of the week i will be working on that, but today and yesterday ive been tying up loose ends on the turbo. the exhaust leak was fixed, and today i finally welded a bung for the o2 sensor so now thats hooked up and i dont have a CEL anymore.

havent blown it out yet, but it blew off once. all of a sudden the car wouldnt hit boost anymore. just popped it back on and it was fine. but ive been continually checking that to make sure it wasnt breaking, its soft but hasnt broken yet.

Just got done reading your write up chris :thumb: :thumb:
I don't have a mig welder  (just a tig, arc , and oxy/acytlene :D )I'm still practicing with my wire feed tig.

Anyways looks good, but does the plumbing from HD work good? I know its a temp fix until you get your hardpiping done. Just asking(just in case I reach that point)

It gets the job done. it started to sag from the weight of the BOV, but its reached its lowest point i think and it doesnt seem to be getting any lower.

I know on stainless, a mig works great. Plus its hard to find gas core stainless for a wirefeed, and if I can find it, it's expensive. BUT since it looks like thats all regular steel  , better get back out there and start practicing I guess

i think you got it backwards, Tig works great on stainless steel, Mig is more limited. you can get Stainless weld els from the website i got the collector from. I used all mild steel because i had a Mig welder. My welding improved so much during this project. you cant see it but the bottom weld on the collector is flawless

Ooops, Yeah you got it, That means I have a mig welder, Not a tig. I had to take my resonator down to an exhaust shop to have them cut it and move the flange.

quick question.....since many of us including myself dont have access to a mig welder.....can we get a manifold already made w/ the 420a flange?

yes, the website i gave for where i got the collector sells manifolds for $250, all you have to do is line up where you want the collector to go and have someone cut the mani and weld it on there.

I saw one on ebay last night for 300$, it had a t3 flange and a external wastegate flange(although I thought the t3 was internally gated)
