You'd be surprised how much tuning plays a factor in the reliability of stock internals in ANY car... A guy I know with a 91' Galant VR-4 (username: turbowop, or www.ten-fifty-one.com) is running his 6-bolt with stock block and head, balance shafts removed, ARP headstuds, Mitsu MLS Headgasket, FP3052 turbo, 780cc injectors, HKS 272 cams, Magnus SMIM, and FMIC tuning with DSMLink running 11s @ 32lbs of boost at the track with two counts of knock or less!! I know he was running that much because he was using my allen tool to change the boost on his MBC! Granted he's not completely stock and it's comparing apples to oranges, 4G63 to 420A, blah, blah, blah... But he's still running very little mods to the inside of the engine and running a shit ton of power. And how can he do that? Extreme attention to detail when it comes to the tuning done on his car!

AWD, thanks for the info and taking the time to test the limits of your 420a T.

I think I'll be taking a trip out to vegas at some point to check out the shop in person.

Maybe I missed it in one of the other posts. But I was wondering what compression pistions you are using on your current setup?

they are 10.5:1 weiseco's.

:tease: actually they are 8.8:1 weiseco's with the new sexy coating on the skirts.:thumb:

LOL, you had me jaw dropped for a sec, not that tuning with 10:5:1 on a turbo motor is completely un heard of, but 8:8:1, just sounds a little more realistic at 20+psi.

But then again you guys do push the envelope and take your time while doing it all.

Now maybe I'm still curious because I've never really seen one in person, but what exactly do you do to tune the porterfuler, is it computer controlled, laptop based, etc?

i wish i had a dyno to use whenever i wanted

very nice job.

via a laptop and a plenty of dyno time:rocks: :thumb:

Intersting info on Dyno's i didnt realize however the sarciasm and crap should be left at the entry gate. Neither discussion really takes into the account of tire slippage to argue the point the Mustange dyno is less accurate.

Considering most shops around me all agree the dynapack and dyna jet are more accurate, I will follow them considering their work tops most vendors I have seen surfing the net, peddling their junk to a cheap crowd and letting copious amounts of biased data flow from their mouths. I have had two shops with a mustange dyno's discuss thier thoughts on the accuracy and most come to the same conclusion: The mustange is the cheapest and it was in a price range we wanted to spend, ballpark is ballpark.

...vids ?

then the man wouldn't mind playing a game of pinks. just think how big of an episode it would be, ALL TURBO IMPORT WAR, and the bright side is rich from pinks is here in vegas looking for cars to sign up on his show at SEMA!!

AWD what are you talking about? The dyno discusson was strickly that. No one here said your dyno sheet was inaccurate the discussion was strickly that mustang dynos rate lower than the other 2. In other words you would rate higher on the other two.

The only thing i posted was that your torque is low and since you know oh so much, you cant explain it to me. THe guy here that knows so much about tuning and owns his own shop cant explain that to me. Basically you serve no function here but to inflate your own bubble.
