This is a run down of the parts that I have decided on so far.

-TRE stage 3 trans rebuild with 4 spider center and ripgrip front lsd and Evo 3 rear lsd. Rebuilt transfer case
-Stock 7-bolt bottom end (180 across the board and BS removal)
-6AN tank to rail and return with Fuel Lab filter and FPR
-950cc's (unsure on the brand)
-Walbro 255hp rewired
-Link v3

The things I am unsure of are the turbo, valve train/cams, and clutch set up.

As far as the turbo, I've been leaning towards the HTA68. Originally, I thought I decided on a MHI evo3.
Valve train will be decided on the cams. I'm leaning towards 272's or 264's.
For the clutch I am totally undecided. Too many options.

This is where I need advice. I'm shooting for 350 to 400 hp as reliable and streetable as possible. I want to get parts that will be stressed as little as possible at this level. I would like to do it right and only once. If anything maybe a bigger turbo when it starts to feel slow. I'm aiming for quick spool, good torque, and a decent top end. With what I have mentioned, I think I'm pretty close. If anyone has any advice, suggestions, opinions... feel free. I am totally lost on the clutch set up and cams. Remember, I'd like to keep it as streetable as possible. It may see a track 3 times a year(would be a lot). It definitely will be sideways on snow and ice:D. Thanks

I'm in the same boat as you looking for 400whp on pump without pushing the limit of the turbo and my car is gonna be a street car also. Its gonna be hard hitting your goal on the hta68 on pump. The turbos I'm deciding on are hta68,20g, hx35 which I think I'm gonna end up going with the holset to leave some room and I'm sure I'm gonna hit 400 whp on pump. For cams go straight delta 272 cams there cheap so you don't lose to much low end torque and still have power up top and manley springs will do just fine.

I like the HX35 for the same reasons. Just wondering where it's usable in the power band. (7.5 to 8k) I'll look into the Delta's. I was strongly considering FP's cams. Either fp1 and fp2 combo or just fp2's. Thanks, good info.

Well i have to say you need to read more. I was in the same state about 3 months ago when i bought my first dsm.

I was lucky to have a few things done already like walbro 255, act 2600 which is an AWESOME clutch... i recommend it.

As for your power goals..the 16g might do it but everyone is right..u have to push it hard for 350whp.

I just bought a 7 blade hx35 from someone on the site for 325 bucks...now im going to be running a t3 mani with the stock divided housing..but for 250 extra u can buy the bep housing ..maybe cheaper.

I have read that the hx35 with a t3 manifold pushes 20psi by 4000rpm on a our stock 2.0L ..and if u run the bep 55 a/r housing..## looking at 3300-3500rpm which is amazing in my opinion.

I really considered an hx40 becuase i do want to go fast...but i didnt want to have to buzz a stock bottom end to 8000rpm ### the turbo didnt spool till 5k.

As for cams...its really hard to say ..everyone has a diff opinion. I might be getting a deal on the 264/272 hks combo from someone so i will run that...stock intake manifold.

As for tranny...what you want is the best ..but be prepared to drop 2K at the minimum or 3K for new rebuilt.

Also i dont see adjustable 1:1 FPR on there...you will need one of those, as well as i dont see anything about headstuds and headgasket.

If you want 400whp on a hx35, ## going to need 25psi...so you'll need headstuds and a fresh headgasket. If you have extra money go with the L19 headstuds and Felpro MLS gasket. EXTREMEPSI.COM sells them for 400 shipped for both. I know its a lot of money but you cant get better and then you shouldnt have to change them when you go for bigger power.

I am pretty much doing the exact same set-up as you, i have a 2g talon, but will be building a half decent bottom end (eagle JE combo) and my goal is not hp..its quarter mile time.

Stock hx35 7 blade record holder is 10.77@133mph best mph was 137 he said. (bwhite).

OH and i have a HRC 20g right now and it might be a capable turbo..but i didnt want to max it at a 12second pass. I want low 11's

All I've been doing is reading and researching. The E316G is not in question. If I was shooting for 300 to 340, it would be feasible. I'm still looking into the HX35. Along with the Holset, I'm also checking out FP's 3052 and HTA68. The transmission, transfer case and rear are all getting redone. They are being built to withstand more than I can throw at them. FPR, see posts 1 and 20. The head will be rebuilt for revs and reliability. As for the cams, I'm still in the air. Torn between FPs and Kelfords. The point of this build is to not really stress any of the components. My build list is a lot longer than mentioned in this thread. What I have mentioned was just a quick list to what I'm trying to get at. I have to say I'm not the only one who needs to read more. If you had read the whole thread, you would have noticed certain things. (not trying to be a dick) Good info though and good luck with your build.

Ya i just skimmed what you posted mostly. I think depending on turbo choice...your should be able to get 350-400whp on pump...with the mod list you say. You are WAY overbuilding for 400hp. with a 3052, you could probably have low 500's i think. Good luck tho..my idea is just to run everything to the limit at teh track and have it turned down on the street for cruising.

You lucky bastards and your 93...our 91 is so shitty here it acts like 87 octane so i am forced to buy a meth kit to get much performance.

I have read a lot about different cams, most people say the kelfords are by far the best. HKS seems to be middle ground and a bit overpriced now.

Keep us informed id like to see what you end up with and what kind of times or hp levels u can reach with your set-up compared to mine.

Ok. So after some searching around, this is what I came up with as far as turbo and head set up go.

-FP race manifold
-E3 02 housing
-FP HTA68
-FP1 intake, FP2 exhaust cams
-beehive spring w/ E8 retainers
-revised lifters
-ARP L19's

Let me know your thoughts.

That should be good its a solid street setup can't go wrong with the parts you have listed seems like you got a big wallet LOL.

Good street manners are what I'm aiming for. I wish I had a big wallet. I sold two of my other cars to get this project going. I've also been picking up side jobs whenever I could and selling other random parts I've accumulated through the years.

Punishment Racing's recirculated o2 housing not evo3
hx35 turbo
fp manifold (jmf heat shield)
Ferrea valve springs and retainers
evo 8 lifters
hks 272/272
arp and cometic head gasket

I'll look into the PR 02 housing. I like the HX35. I found a lot more info on that than the HTA68. I read and heard good things on both turbo's. I just like the FP turbo a bit more for certain reasons. Definitely going with the FP manifold. I'll have to do some research on the Ferrea's. Aren't the 3g lifters the same as the evo's? Cams-If I change my mind on the FP1 FP2 combo it will be for the Kelfords 264/272's. Thanks

do what you got to do with the tranny, can never be to built for your weekend launches

act 2100 with 6 puck unsprung/sprung if your worried about crank walk
if not then 2600 with street disk

evo3 turbo will get you to your hsp levels ( 350 ) or get a 20g or 18g you can always upgrade later when you dont feel fast enough anymore (holset ) or fp

264/272 cam combo will keep that idol managable and create nice power, wont need the valve kit either with that set up,

agreed on the tranny and t case and rear. I like peace of mind. I heard that the 2600 with the street disc would be the better way to go and it's proven. Evo316g is totally out of the question. Running it at 350hp daily will greatly shorten it's lifespan. I am overbuilding certain things now so that they can handle more later and the occasional "spirited driving". That is the cam combo I'm going with, just unsure of the brand. I'll redo the valve train regardless just to be safe.

Just when I thought I was decided, FP goes and puts on a crazy sale that is too good to pass up. I have to take advantage of their special on the FP manifold and E316G.

I've got an mhi slowboy racing e3 with about 1000miles on it and no shaft play that has an external wastegate setup on it if you're looking to buy one.

I would also look into some kelford 272s, if you ever plan on upgrading your setup you won't have to mess with your cams (they have the duration of 288s).

He's only looking to make 400whp and kelfords 272 will not go well with his setup

He said that he might also be looking to upgrade his setup later down the road and wants to buy bigger to make sure he doesn't have to re-buy parts

I don't see how kelfords would not assure that.

I have to call FP tomorrow. I just saw the updated specials. I'm going to switch to the HTA68.

Man seems like I am in the same boat, maybe shooting for a little less power, so I would love to hear your results once you get it all done.

I'm pretty much just stock piling parts right now. I still have to get a new DD. I'm also getting really anxious to get started on it. I'd like to see where the HTA68 could take me on the stock 7 bolt block using 93. I'm sure I'll end up with a extremely good street set up.

BTW, FP has excellent customer service. I called today and they had no problem remedying the situation. The E316g I ordered will be replaced by the 68HTA.

OK gang, Here is what I got in so far.
-FP race manifold
-FP 68HTA
-AEM uego
-oem clutch fork, fulcrum ball, TOB
-Hallman pro BC
I hope to have pics up within a few days.
Lastly I got two 255hp fuel pumps. Here is a new question.
-Forced Performance fuel pump
-Walbro fuel pump
Which one should I run?
