Hey guys I was on my way home and all of a sudden my af gauge went super rich maxes out and wouldn't accelerate past 3500 . I noticed that safc1 kept turning back on so I fixed a loose wire now the car idles at max lean and if you touch the gas pedal it maxes out at rich? What's going on

Yea but why is it doing this it wasn't before it would cycle at idle. never go rich when I rev it. I cant drive because it goes so rich it just sputters!

My car is running teribble it never did this before did you see how rich it goes.

theres gray smoke coming out of my exhaust.

Sorry about that I'll keep it all in this thread. I tried reconnecting my wires as if the safc wasnt there and still the same problem it mechanically related. I tried a test on the fpr passed. Tommorow I have to check my o2 sensor. Any one else have any ideas? I'm running super lean at idle and if I press the gas it immediately goes extremely rich. Also grey smoke when lean.

Yea I was just told that by gofer I think you guys might be right i'm going to test it tomorrow and pull it out to see. thanks for the reply. If it's not the o2 I have no idea what to do because I searched every where no one seems to know.

I dont know how else to tell you this.

That sensor you have is a useless light show. It is based on volts not actual a/f ratio.

It is totally useless.

One thing i would ask, Is the SAFC setup correctly? proper in and out. Proper throttle setup. Double check all that. Also what are your high and low settings set to? U said everything is zero'd now so thats a start. But check all settings and connections.

Well I replaced my o2 sensor and everythings back to normal except when you first start the car it sits at lean for like 5 secs. Also what are the throttle percents for the safc and in and out I thought couldn't be adjusted on karman.

Thanks for not creating another thread about your new SAFC questions, you could do a quick search and find your answer, though.

RRE Basic SAFC Settings

Glad you fixed your problem but you might have bigger ones in the future if you try to tune your car using that narrowband o2 gauge, you need a wideband to tune properly.

:dsm:

No problem and thanks I couldn't find the rre one and yea I'm going to get a logger as soon as possible. The only thing that narrowband does is tell you if your o2 is cycling LOL.
