Hey Everyone

I have a '99 Eclipse Spyder GS and I'm having problems with the entire control panel where the fan speed control/ AC settings are. I couldn't find a previous post that included everything so here is what is happening.

Everything was working fine until about two months ago then I started having issues if I hit a small bump in the road my fan would turn off but then it would come back on in a few minutes. It has gotten to the point where now it rarely comes on at all.

When it doesn't work nothing in that area works (the switch for the convertible top, the blower speed control, the green light on the A/C button doesn't even come on) but when it does work sometimes it works for a few days and sometimes just a few hours or minutes depends on the day but all of that works fine. It seems like it has to be an electrical problem but I don't know what would cause all of those to only work intermittently like that. Has anyone else had this problem and know how to fix it or have any suggestions where I should start looking? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You're going to have to check for voltage at the blower motor. This will verify whether there is a bad connection to the motor or the motor is FUBAR.

The blower switch can develop a short inside it when it gets old (known problem). It supplies power to the blower, AC light & switch, auto compressor ECM, and defroster switch. If that's your problem (and it only gets worse with time) the only solution is blower switch replacement.
