OK so brief history.
-sister gets car
-sister is moron drives eclipse with no oil
-Ka-boom
-refurbished engine installed
-major issues with computer (finally fixed)
-losts of rust parts replaced
-frankin car

Alrighty so this 99limited edition eclipse was haveing problems starting/staying started in the cold.. Battery drains out so we jump it.. it runs and we get it parked.. instantly try turning it back on.. click click click (bad altenator!) Replaced battery (brand new) replaced altenator with 90amp instead of stock 75amp.:sneaky:

Drives like a DSM is supposed to drive!(except battery light is on) get 1 block from my destination (9-10mile trip) it dies and wont start. It turns over but right when altenator is supposed to take over power it gets nothing.

check under the hood.... check fuse panel 120Amp altenator clutch fuse is blown. unhook battery, replace fuse, rehook battery, POP! fuse blows again...
WTF

I R ANNOYED! suggestions? Talked to mitsubishi parts/mechanic They don't make a fuse bigger then 120amp would have to go aftermarket and am worried about messing up the car.

Update
Tried another 120A fuse and it instantly popped when rehooking the battery(despite the fact the battery was almost dead). Can FORCE the car to drive.. turn it on give it gas one foot on gas pedal to keep rpms from dieing out other on brake to keep from driveing through stops.. could really use some help LOL

Have Spent alot of time and money just getting this thing running, inspected and now this problem... i cannot give up yet as angry as i am. :banghead:

ran through the wireing on everything i ever touched, turns out one of the wires to the alt was grounding On the alt itself.. problem fixed thanks anyways >.<

You are definately shorting to ground. Check the rubber book covering the side of the altenator. Also make sure your battery terminals arent wiggling. I know it sounds simple but you start from the top and work your way down. For the fuse to blow the short to ground is between your altenator and fuse box. It is more then likely the wire which is held down with the nut and covered with the red boot. Check that and tell us what you find.

+1 short to the ground. nothing's more can blow the fuse. Your battery will never need as much as 120 amps.

You were very right, my possitive was grounding off the connections in an odd way.. fixed and no more issues. FOunded it and forgot about this post :thumb:
