So im hoping someone can point me in the right direction here. Drove to work the other day and car was running fine. Left work about 11 hours later and car started but the died right out. tried starting it several times with pretty much the same results. Sometimes it would stall and sometimes it would drop to 0 RPMs then kick up to about 2k rpms. If I gave it gas the motor would bog down.

Prior to this I was having an issue where occasionally it would stall at a light or even on occasion if I had it in nuetral while making a turn. This would eventually stop and car would drive fine.

So I got it home and did a scan on it, and im not getting any codes. I tried running it without the TPS and MAP sensors connected at seperate times, and when the IAC valve was unhooked it ran at a steady 2500 RPMs with a stutter when I gave it gas but it would rev up.

Basically I dont know where to start. I dont have money to throw into parts that arent gonna fix it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Clean your map sensor. Also start your car then unplug it and see if there is any difference. When the iac is unplugged it always idles high as heck so your iac must be ok. Also do a boost leak test, check plugs, wires.

I already cleaned it and when I ran it unplugged it made no difference. I don't have a turbo, would a boost leak test even be possible?

My thought was if it idled high with no issue until given gas the spark would be fine... am I wrong?

Ok so I had my Sensors wrong. I got the map and iat mixed up. I'll try unplugging the map when I get home and see what that does

Ok, I'll see if I can find one in a junked car. I'm gonna test the fuel pressure rossi or tomorrow and see what that says

Tried starting the beast today and it stayed running, haven't been able to fiddle with it so nothings changed. The idle is still kinda rough, and now there is a ticking noise that sounds like a solenoid or or valve clicking. It kinda sounds like it's on the top right side of the motor.

Sorry for the bad audio at the beginning.... not sure why it did that.

Found the source of the ticking.... the #4 wire is split and taped.... I started it with the wire unhooked and the ticking was gone
