I’ve been having some problems with the belt for a while now, when i first got it it was screeching a lot so i got it replaced and it stopped but recently it started doing it again so i had someone check it out and they told me it was the adjuster bolt for the pulley but i can’t find it anywhere so i was wonder if anyone could help me, im new to the car scene but ive gained interest in it and i want to learn more especially DSM

Does your belt keep loosening after drives? If there new belts I've had to tighten mine a couple times from breaking them in.

You could post your problem so others can help. I don't know if your going to get much traffic through your build thread on this problem.

The tensioner bolt is probably stripped or broken. Extremely common problem with the 420A. You can't buy them new anymore but plenty of used ones are floating around. I've sold 7 of them in the past couple of years. Unfortunately I'm currently out of stock but will obtain the next one I find.

Maybe this should be merged into a new thread?

Would this one work? and i’m still trying to figure out how to merge into a new thread

Interesting question. I can't say for sure, but I don't think that will work. It is intended for the Mitsubishi 2.4L which is very different than the Mopar 2.0L. The assembly does appear to be similar though. Buying this would be a gamble, but useful to know if it fits. See if you can find specifications for both of those bolts in the image. This would at least give me an idea of whether it may work.

I'm sure the moderators can merge this information to a new thread.

i’ve been looking for and tensioner bolt for a while because i had order one but it turned out to be the wrong one i’ll send a picture

Wait, are you looking for the alternator belt tensioner? Or the power steering A/C belt tensioner? The common issue is with power steering A/C. I've not seen any issue with the alternator belt tensioner before.

hey so i doubled checked it and you were right it was the power steering A/C, do you know anywhere i could get the bolt for it?
As far as I know, you must buy them used. I am currently researching a new solution to use, but will take some time. I haven't been the only seller of these on Ebay so maybe try checking there.

For reference, here's a diagram of the tensioner assembly. Make sure you don't accidentally order the alternator tensioner.
