ECMlink 98 GSX ECMLink big 16g

Hi all!
I have upgraded the turbo to evo3 big 16g on my 1998 eclipse gsx. Other than front mount intercooler the rest is stock.
Since there is no way of tuning the stock 98 ECU I have bought a used 95/96 ECU which is converted to 98 with ECMLink.
Stock ECU: MD346676
ECMlink ECU: MD312464.

The car runs fine on the stock ECU however with the ECMLink ECU it wont start and backfires a lot.
Probably because all the values are programmed to a different Eclipse. (the guy i bought it from had a very tuned 98 gst)

I need to find a base tune so i can start it and drive to the dyno tuner.
I've read on the forum that there is an option to reset to default But this would probably reset to a 95/96 base tune. I am completley new to ECMLink, trying to figure things out.

You probably need to switch the wires on the 2 coils. The 95 ecu has a different firing order.

Swap those plug wires. Happens to the best of us

i thought if i uploaded the stock 95 config i would have some issues since the car is 98?

According to this wiki, and assuming your ECMLink ECU has not had a 97+ conversion, you need to find the setting to “use non-95/96 style cam angle sensor” and swap plug wires as already discussed.
