I need to know some of the hidden spots where the vin is located. My friend bought an eclipse that appears a bit shady.

Those are all gone. Any other known locations? Maybe stamped in the unibody somewhere?

Every body panel should have a vin sticker on it.

If there was an accident and a mitsu part was used, it will say RDOT instead.

thats probably the info i was looking for. thanx. i'll update tomorrow for anyone's future reference.

In the driver's door area - on the "C" pillar should be a manufacturer's plate as well.

Eagles will begin with the "4E" - 4 being the USA plant and "E" being Eagle. If it's a "4A", then it's an Eclipse.

What about the registration/title - this should also show the VIN

Either your state troopers or your motor vehicles department will do the check. If it is shady, you're screwed no matter who "finds" it. Cut your losses at the start.
