Okay so lets start from the begining I have followed the Mitsubishi test charts and aplications for testing the ingnition system as i have acces to there website basically i have no 5 volt pulse on the Blue/blsck wire at the ecu wich controls the ingnition control module to fire 1 and 4 the 2 and 3 (brown/red ) at the ecu for cylinders 2 and 3 sends out its 5 volt pulse just fine the guy before me didnt know how to test (as i bought the car not running ) and had bought a extra coil pack and used ecu which has the same problem. I have tested all they way from the plugs to the ecu all wires arre good and within mits spec what botehrs me is i have 2 ecus doing the same thing . So my question is 1 is this a know problem with a 96 gst ecu and is there anything else that could cause the ecu to not send out its signal as mits says replace ecu at this point when you follow the block diagrams. It just seems odd to me that two ecus would have the same problem. Any one whos a mits tech or has experience with this pelase respond i hate to buy a brand new ecu if theres something else that could be causig the ecu to only send out firing orders to 2 and 3 I have also tested the crank sensor and it does what it should acording to mits during cranking. All tasting was done with a osiliscope and a meter for continuity. Just a side note i now have thanks to the extra parts he bought 3 good coil packs and 1 extra ingnition control modules and one extra not working ecu unless some one comes up with a idea as to why its not firing. Please any good ideas welcome.
