2G 95 talon bucking at 4000rpm

Hi guys a friend of mine has given me a 95 talon. Not sure of all things done to car, but a list of what I know is done is
1. Cp pistons
2. Manley rods
3. 750cc injectors
4. 255 Wally fuel pump
5. What I believe to be an ebay turbo? Not sure
6. Aftermarket bov and wastegate(also may be ebay brand as well)
7. Aftermarket fpr
8. Boost guage oil pres. And a wb02 (not working for some reason)
Anyhow the problem persists around 4000r range when the turbo starts to spool and the boost guage is giving me a reading of around 0-1 psi, I've looked this up for over a week and tried several things. Looked at plugs (cleaned and gapped at .028) no changes. I've done multiple BLT tests and found some boost leaks and fixed. (Helped because it was worse) eliminated the ebay mbc and ran from nipple off turbo to wastegate. Any ideas on what to look for next?
Sorry for such a long post but all the info on the car and what I know and have done is above, first dsm and first turbo car so this is a different world to me thanks in advance guys
 
Did you check what kind of plugs are in it. I would just replace them all along with the wires. Plus u might as well do a compression test if u can. I think also that cam sensor can sometimes go bad and cause the problem also i would look it up. A new coil pack is always a cheap thing to do also.
And if none of that fixes the problem. Check the wiring around the MAF if one of them is cut or grounded by it I have seen it cause problems like that. Especially if you have one of those metal shields around the intake area. I have seen them cut the wiring and cause the problem. Electrical problems are bi*** man. Good luck.
 
What type of plugs are they?
Where is boost gauge connected to vac line wise?
Do have something to tune the injectors like dsmlink?
Said you got a wb02 but not working. What type of wb02 is it.Check the wiring to make sure is right. Your car maybe on limp mode.
You could be getting fuel cut. The boost gauge you have maybe inaccurate and your boosting more than you think.
Also check the things marc said to check too.
 
Plugs are ngk bpr7e? I believe it is? Motor was just rebuilt prior to me getting it with like maybe 5 miles on it. Plugs and msd coil is new, boost guage has vac line from the intake mani it's self. Don't have anything to tune with and will check the wires for the MAF and will also need to check on the o2 wiring. I appreciate the help guys, I know it's hard to try and diagnose a cars probkem without seeing it. Will get a video of what exactally is going on today and report back with checking the other things you guys suggested

Added note: I looked at the wires for the maf and saw no problems. Also now when it gets to the 4k-5k rpm range it's not bucking anymore now it's just like flat lining there.

maybe fuel cut. if u have a way to check your fuel pressure i would do that. I dont know the exact psi but google it i am sure someone posted something on it. possible with the new 255 u picked up shit in the tank and caused a clog some where. Check fuel filter if it hasnt been replaced could be the problem. With out hearing or seeing anything there are so many possibilities. Could be spark or fuel but some many things can cause either one to go wrong.
 
Only way I have to check fuel pressure is under the hood at the aftermarket regulator. Also ive searched all around to see what the fuel pressure should be on these, if anyone has a clue feel free to chime in LOL :( Might be a stupid question, but could fuel sitting for a year ( not sure how much was in tank, fuel guage dont seem to work either unless its just that dang low) I put like 2-3gal of fresh gas in it, yeah currently dont have tags insur. or reg. on the car LOL not in a hurry to do that till i get it running right.
Thanks for the help. Still trying to figure this sucker out. Will try and replace fuel filter, drop tank and see if its got any crud in it and put all new fresh gas in it.
 
Our cars are I believe 15-16gal if was empty two three gallons car shows empty on gauge also may take a while for the gauge to move. My car takes couple minutes to show where gas level is at. As for after market fuel regulator psi. Should be 43psi or 47psi. Theres treads and plenty info on this forum.
 
You can't run 750's without being able to tune the car, way to big and you will run pig rich. Put some stock injectors in and see how it behaves.
 
I had a similar issue and it was my spark plug wires. They externally looked fine but when I removed them they were stiff and brittle. I put NGK wires on it and it pulls hard to redline no problem.

I second this. I had the exact same situation, bogging down at 4k and up. Replaced the plug wires with ngk's and the problem was solved.

I do agree with the injectors being too big without management. That could definitely be the issue.
 
I planned on getting it tuned, I don't think it's the plug wires as there new but it's possible. Will have to try another set just to rule out the possibility

hmmm I am listening to it kinda sounds like a little fuel issue. you really could need a tune or just have something wrong somewhere
unfortunately a lot of trial and error now. Unless there is a engine code going off cus it also sound like its hitting a rev limit.
 
Yeah I recently was having problems like this and didn't notice that in link my injector settings went back to 450s, when I'm running 650s. After changing the settings in link the car started running great again.
Like the others said a tune is probably a step in the right direction.
 
Yeah I just don't have link or able to get it yet so it will sit till I can get link and tune it. I ruled out spark plugs and it's obvious that it's rich. I could fumigate someone in 2 minutes LOL. Thanks for the effort and help, once I get it tuned and or at least get link and change the settings for the injectors I will report back. Thanks guys. If anyone is around West Virginia let me know I'll be looking to get it tuned within a few more months. (Won't be legal till December) :(
 
Find out what turbo you have in the mean time, if the turbo is ebay junk I would probably replace that with at least a mhi before getting link. Link is great but with a crap turbo it is worthless when the car doesn't run. Also you can do what thomcasey, said throw some stock 450's in and you will be good, so at least it will be drive-able until you get link.
