93 tsi 6 bolt swap

ok so i have had tons of electrical issues in my laser rs. and so i am buying a tsi that spun a bearing, it doesnt have an engine and mine is good so i am going to need help on the process can some one give me a list of what i should do first when pulling the motor, i will post pics as soon as the tsi gets here

Yea there's no electrical work to do when swapping metal blocks. We're not talking about swapping sensors. Just keep your original head from the 1993 car, with all the sensors/gaskets/electrical still in place. Blocks are a direct swap.

There could be several reasons for the low compression. Was the motor warm and was the upper intercooler pipe removed with the TB butterfly wideopen when the test was done. It could be slightly bent or slightly burnt valves. Or the cams could be out of time. . . Be sure. You may be pulling apart a perfectly fine 6bolt shortblock. This is why I recommend a leakdown test. You can hear where the pressure is escaping.

Your head will work. I jsut said to keep it with all the electronics already attached and just swap in the 6-bolt block.

but with keeping the 93 head the holes for the studs or head bolts will need to be bored out from 11mm to 12mm

i am just going to pull the sensors and stuff off of the 91 and put them on my head so i dont have to deal will stuff like that. its a rolling chassis anyway no motor
