Hi this is my second Talon :) Well i ended up getting this beauity because i gave up my original Talon for a Conquest, after i did it i started to relize it was the dumbest mistake of my life  Well after a while i started to relize i wanted another Talon. my buddy from work had a neighbor that had a 1992 Talon AWD that had been sitting for over 7 years. He had bought it off the guy and he sold it to me for a whoping $800:hellyeah:

Well has you can see shes not the prettiest thing but i plan to make it gorgeous:sneaky: My goals for the car is to paint it, clean out the nasty smell from the car, while redueing the headliner and panels, then figure out why it doesnt start and make it a very reliable DD with A/C!!!!!! :D After i finish this part of the build i will slowly make it a faster car but i just want to drive it right now LOL

So change of plans on project Talon, so over the weekend I pulled the fuel pump out to put the wally in. well the fuel tank had a ton of rust, slim, black sludge in it so I had to pull it out. While I was waiting to pick one up a tank and sending unit on craigslist from a guy, I thought I would work on the motor a little bit. Pulled the valve cover off and the plugs. Well I was like what the hell ill see if this thing turns over by hand, (I know i should have done it when i got it), as i was turning it it moved a little then stopped, back a little bit stop... i looked into the cylinders and dont see any valve imprints so im gonna pull the motor in the next week or so to see whats going on.

So game plan,
Fresh rebuild with
full OEM gasket kit
NPR pistons
ARP head studs
Machined and pollished head
OEM timing componets and water pump
ABS delete
Balance shaft emitation

Ive rebuilt my old talons motor before so i know what im doing, but any advice and tips is greatly appreciated :thumb: Also im thinking about a OEM headgasket, what do you guys think? and is there anything else you think I will need for a budget stock rebuild?

Over the weekend I got bored because I'm still waiting to bring the car to my house, my buddy has let me leave it at his house LOL so I decided to attempt to redue my headliner

Sorry guys I havn't posted back in a while, I wrote a whole long thing last week on what happen and when I was uploading my last picture, the page failed :beatentodeath: so I gave up and ill explain now LOL. Ok so I'm going to explain what happend first and when I get home today ill upload the pics. Well I finally got my Talon to the house. I decided this time that I would take the motor and tranny out at the same time since I never have before. I have to say it was the easiest thing I've ever done LOL. As I got the transmission off on the ground I found it had a brand new OEM clutch that looked like it only had a few miles on it :thumb: As the night went on i got the front of the motor apart, now the weird part was as soon as the timing belt was off I could spin the crank all day long with no binding and I could spin the head by hand too. Well when i got the head finally off i found that all the pistons had valves indents in them, but espicially on the #4 cylinder the previous owner must have broken the timing belt, broke a valve and the piston is destroyed. Well for some reason he had fixed the head and left the pisons as they were WTF I took off the oil pan and thats were it got good. Basically the whole bottom end got oil starved some how and bearings are shot, rods and crank changed color  But its all good now im doing this build right and im going
Full rebuild
H-beam rods
Forged pistons
Arp' bottom end and head bolts
272 cams with springs
Still deciding what turbo
DSM Link
Big injectors
Stage 3 Clutch I got from a fellow DSMer:hellyeah:
I know im missing some stuff im just exited to get it to the machine shop and put it all together:thumb:
