Need help with this. i have a 91 talon tsi fwd with a soon to be running motor but has a rough body and interior. i have a friend that has a 92 talon esi non turbo with a perfect body and interior that has a blown motor that they are willing to sell me for real cheap if i want it. my question is what do i need out of my 91 to put in the 92 to convert it from an esi to a tsi?

well after further installation ive found that there are many other plugs that dont match as well. I dont know what to do anymore. I cant seem to find anyone who knows anything about these cars.
That reads an awful lot like a slap in the face. Hopefully I am reading it wrong. Please try to clarify.

As Paul said, you've given us nothing to help you out with anything other than the initial two connectors that didn't match up. But if I were you and the connector under/behind the radio matched what I linked for you earlier, I would read that complete article to determine if you actually have a 1990 harness. That would explain why "many other plugs" aren't matching up.

sorry I didnt mean that you guys dont know what your talking about... I meant I cant find a shop around to take it to that I can show the car to them and talk about it with to get a visual. Im a hands on person not a read it and do it person. But yes I repined the plug under the radio and the one under the passenger side of the dash. those both fit now.... and I just looked at my receipt for the harness and yes it does say 1990. Not 91/92. So that sounds like my mistake. Why are they so different just the one year off? And again. My earlier comment was not meant towards you at all. I meant no disrespect here. I have nothing but appreciation for you guys. this is the only place where I have gotten any help. Sorry I didnt specify.

Why was the first year different? From a manufacturing standpoint, likely because they could manufacture an "improved" (open to interpretation) product for the same or reduced cost. It's really a moot point 20+ years later, so long as we know that it is different.
