Son in law just picked up this car. Car has a turbo motor installed, ecu for turbo was installed, wiring modified, looks as though conversion was 95% complete. No spark, plugs are pulled, inj are connected, turns over nicely. Setup remote crank/cam position sensor and tested by rotating cam key. Fuel pump operates, inj. fire, still no spark. Tested cam/crank wiring, all good. Pulled ecu and opened up, nothing burnt. Tach showed nothing when engine was cranking. Suspect igniter/ignition power transistor. will test wiring today. All sensors were connected for remote crank/cam test. Any ideas folks? TIA.

Will have to keep in mind the ecu then. Hope it's not that. Todays testing may offer more light. Thanks for the reply. Will keep that bit of info for future.

Kind of depends on what is wrong with the transistor. IT controls both coils so it can cause one or both to not fire.

Quick question for those looking at this post.
Anyone know a wiring diagram for the power transistor that I could take a look at? Mchaloux is my father and law and I am stuck at work so I thought I would try to help.

To begin with the built date on the B pillar is June of 1990, is this a 1991 model year?
Ecu Wiring - Looking at the ECU wiring comparison charts it looks like a 1991 model.
On connector B-14 (connector for ignition coil) terminal end 3 should be Black with White, but in our case it is Black with Red. Then on the same connector terminal number 2 was probably correct being Yellow Green. Then terminal number 1 was White with Blue when it should have been Yellow with Black.
Noticed that power transistor connector terminals 1 and 8 should correspond with the B-14 connector 1 and 2 and they do not. The proposal is to cut the B-14 connector out and splice in conductors to run from terminal 6 on power transistor to terminal 3 on B-14. Next is to run conductor to B-14 terminal 2 to power transistor terminal 8. And finally run conductor from B-14 terminal 1 to power transistor terminal 1. What do you guys think?

So just spoke with the previous owner and he did do some messing around with the wiring on the harness and may have messed it up. So hopefully we can trace back where he made the mistake and fix it.

As it turns out there are multiple connectors on this car that are the same. Doh, previous owner had connected the coil pack to the wrong connector. Beware, check you connections first before cutting and splicing. Thanks for all the imput and thanks be to God for an easy fix.
