when I got the alternator I noticed on my probably original 65 amp alt. that there was another post not being used. I didn't use it on the 90 amp alternator either, just wondering what the extra post is there for and also think I have a short somewhere because some how or another I managed to blow my 100 amp fuse I put in place of the 80 amp fuse originally in the car for the alternator. any idea on what could cause the fuse to blow short wise, and if the other post is suppose to be used for something?

thanks for the help
Josh

This is resolved, still not sure what the extra port is for guessing it just is not used, as it wasn't on my old one. fuse was blowing because my alternator hot wire had a small knick in the wire exposing it and it was grounding out on my ic piping.
