I've been out of the country for a while and my alternator on my 6 bolt 1g finally crapped out on me. I bought it from STM many years back while they still had oem as an option.
Clearly I haven't been paying attention or I would have bought a couple more while I had the chance, but hindsight is 20/20.
Currently, my options are the Saturn alternator, which I am concerned about sustained availability of long-term, and the remanned/new options visa-vie ac Delco and such which historicaly don't last.
But it got me wondering, is anyone looking into any other options for our cars lately past the current options? Are we and the evo 1-3 guys really only stuck with remanned, or is there work being done for something a little newer to retrofit?
Thoughts?
