I am swapping my blown 7 bolt for a 6 bolt and have a couple questions (so far):

I’m doing the timing belt and front main seal. The front case gasket looks solid. Should I replace it anyway if I’m not disturbing it?

The oil filter housing on the 6bolt doesn’t have a place for the pressure sensor (see pics). Is there a way to add one, or should I just swap them?

Thanks for the help

If the engine was used but running well and you're not tearing it down completely, I wouldn't bother replacing it.

You could use a bspt/npt (cant recall what those particular plugs are) plug reducer on the port just below the oil pressure switch (the one at an angle toward the ground) to convert to 3/8" or 1/8" npt (i can never remember the right size) and put the gauge (or line for a remote gauge) there.

Even a nipple fitting or hard line to a gauge.

Thanks for the quick responses.
One other thing. Is there a difference between these CAS?
The grey one is on the 6 bolt. Do I need to swap the black one over?

The black top is more desired by many but I've swapped between both without a problem.

Me personally, I would just swap the gasket if the motor was out and it previously used but that's my mindset. Everything is off so why not be sure the gasket is good to go with a brand new one torqued to perfection?

I replied in your other thread as well, and just to throw this out there. If your doing the timing / front seal / front cover gasket, might as well consider deleting the balance shafts as well.
