7 bolt to 6 bolt

Was planning on rebuilding my 7 bolt with road race but they had told me they dont work on the 7 bolt engines so I would have to provide them with a 6 blot. And I have been looking at websites and I came across jdmenginescorp.com ? Anyone ever got something from them? If so is it trust worthy?


Also will the 6 bolt fit right in a 2g?

You have to modify the 7 bolt mount bracket to fit past the water pump. But I'd stay away from JDM engine importers. You can usually find low mileage built engines for less than what they want for a stock engine in unknown condition.

I bought an engine from an import website when I was new in the game and in a pinch. I believe its the same sight just a different name now, it looks the same as the other did. To be honest its the same 7 bolt engine that I bought thats in the car now on my hx35. Its been in the car since 2009 and Ive been beating the crap out of the car for a while..

Im not understanding why whoever you talked to wont work on 7 bolts. Will they bolt right in, sure. With a couple modifications. Plus a little wiring. There are tons of threads on here on 6 bolt swaps, I suggest you take a look at them.

Hey sorry to hijack your thread but I'm also planning to do a 6 bolt swap on my 1999 gsx because my 7 bolt walked on me this weekend (thank God I still have my 1999 gs lying around to get back and forth to work) anyway I've never attempted a project like this before so I need all the help I can get starting with where to acquire a swap ready 6bolt and what else would I need upon acquiring said motor. Upon hours and hours of searching I was also wondering if this would be a good option

2 grand for a "rebuilt" 6 bolt? Screw all that jazz. How are you for sure your original engine "crankwalk" did you actually measure end play or did something happen and someone just said "oh its crankwalked?" 99 times out of 100 when someone says their engine had thrust bearing failure it is something totally unrelated.

I know someone that bought a motor there and his crank broke in half. It had some weird parts and wasn't a regular 6bolt. I know some others that bought engines there a while back and none of them lasted long. I have heard some other shady stuff about them too.

Sorry about the really late reply fellas. But im having mine rebuilt im just going with my thoughts on it I dont want to get rid of a 4g63 without having it till its last couple runs . But thanks guys hope to do a 6 bolt swap when this one decides to give out copleatly
