Alrite guys, could use the best input from the specialists more than anything on this. I have a 7 bolt in my 2g obv. and im debating whether to swap it with a 6 bolt or not. I have a 1g head and 1g intake mani on it. I plan on making it rip like 400-600 hp and dont want the crank walking on mee. I dont want to go out and spend a lot of money on a 6 bolt and have that built. Is there a way to put a 6 bolt crank on my 7 bolt motor and build my 7 bolt now?? lmkk

If your 7 bolt is fine, just use it until it goes *if* it does. Just because you have a 7 bolt doesn't mean it'll walk. If you plan on making numbers, just start building the 6 bolt now and have it aside for when/if you need to drop it in.

You have a 1g head and IM on what, the 6 or 7 bolt? Hopefully it's not the 7 bolt...
Personally you would be better off using the 2g head and an Evo3/RVR IM on the 6 bolt

Well i have the car aside now and dont wanna spend a lot of money. Should i bite the bullet and just get a 6 bolt and build it or build my 7 bolt with a 6 bolt crank. i plan on "making numbers"

if you really want to hit the 500+ mark you really do want to spend the money and build a 6-bolt up.

1. over 400 hp and you want to do internals anyways

2. building up a 6-bolt will give you both a solid engine and rid yourself of the crankwalk issue.

how many miles on the 7 bolt?

the 7 bolt has 116,000 and it runs like a champ. I just dont want to be doing a lot of modding to make this swap work like the Crank sensor etc. Any idea how much i could get for my turn key motor?
