I have a built 7 bolt and a stock 6 bolt motor but not sure which to finish in the long run bc of from what I've heard 7 bolts crank walk but I duno which I should pursue and place in the car anyone have a sugestions??

Lol. Any motor can walk, also people overate crankwalk, it is less common than what everyone states. Both engines have their pro's and con's.

Lol I'm not scared now of cw I just don't want my thousands to go poof LOL ESP if I'm sending my tranny to shep racing. Just trying to figure out the best option

Phh people are making 400whp on stock internal 7 bolts and have no crank walk yet. CRank walk is done by people nto taking care of the car. Like rev limiter bouncing pushing the clutch in when starting it up not changing the oil every 3000 mile's not using the right oil. Most of the time doing all that at once causes crank walk. Oh and of corse the #1 reason is Poor tuning with newb owners.

Im putting together a block for one of the guys on here (viperlp01) and he decided on a 7 bolt.. He is putting down some nasty numbers on his holset with a completely stock block.. From what he told me it is stock head studs and head gasket....

The main weakness in the 7 bolt is the rods so if you fix that problem then you should be fine.. I would personally keep the 7 bolt.. You can reuse all of your stuff and you dont have to mess with rewiring for the 6 bolt swap..

is building a 7 bolt reliable? I have one in my gsx. I have the option of buying a 6 bolt for cheap but i plan on completely rebuilding a motor. If i buy a complete rebuild for my 7 bolt will it be ok?

If the 7 bolt block is a later generation (97-99 i think) and it uses the split thrust bearing, you should have an even less chance of damaging the bearing (crankwalking). But like everyone else said, it's rare to see a walked 7 bolt anymore.
