6-Bolt with 2G pistons PTW for big power

I tried to post this in the Cylinder Head & Shortblock forum, but due to lurking and never really posting, I can't. Anyways, hallf-way through my Talon build/restoration I realized I can't really afford to go with forged internals at the time, but would still like to make 500whp. I picked up a set of 85.5 NPR 2G pistons. Everything is at my machinist right now, and he is question what I asked for PTW after I told him how much boost I'm going to be running, granted he never does 4 cylinder performance. I asked for .002 which is the top of the spec, and was even contemplating .0025. He wants to go at least .004 thinking I will stick a piston! Any input?

Stay with the oem specs on a stock piston. How much boost do you plan on running?

Should have tried to pick up some used EVO 9 pistons and buy new rings since they are overall stronger. But none the less, I would stick with OEM spec on those.

Thanks for the replies. I plan on running 30psi on my ported E316G with water/alcohol. And run 25-30psi on an HX-35. So you guys are thinking .002?

Just an FYI. The machine shop just called me and wanted to do the motor today Lthey said it would be 2 weeks, they've had it for 2 days... Awesome. I decided to go .0005 over max stock spec of .0020. I wouldn't think .0025 would be an issue at all. Who knows, it may help the ring lands last until I can afford a forged build.
