6 bolt swap to with 2g head

I just recently got a 95 gst and have a 6 bolt block and plan on using the 2g head. I have read many post about how the 2g head should be ported to match up with the 1g block. My question is, is it necessary to do this to get the car running and if not and I do decide not to port the head would this be a bad idea to do. My main concern right now is to get the car up and running right now before I start modding it because i do not have a car as of right now.

You don't have to port the head. You have to enlarge the holes for the head studs/bolts whatever you decided they are larger than the 7 bolt head studs/bolts.
