I just put a 6 bolt in my 1995 GSX, and cannot get it to start. It will crank fine, and I have fuel, spark, and compression (175psi across the board). I'm using the 2g coil pack, and ECMTuning chipped my stock ECU to be like a 2gb.
When I got my ECU back from ECMTuning originally, I had the stock engine in the car. Tom Dorris said that since they changed the ECU to fire like a 2gb, I'd have to swap my plugs until I put the 6 bolt in. I swapped the plug wires per the usual instructions, and also had to check the "use non95-96 cam sensor" box for some reason. Car ran like a raped ape.
Fast forward to today. Complete 6 bolt engine swap (2.3L stroker) is in. I reused the 2g coil pack, and am using the black top 1g CAS. I put the spark plug wires back to their stock locations on the coil pack, and un-checked the "use non95-96 cam sensor" box, since I know the 1g CAS is inverted from the original 95 CAS. I cut my wiring harness and soldered in the plug for the 1g CAS per Magnus' instructions. I get fuel (all pistons are wet), and I pulled a spark plug to see if I get spark. I do, at least on that cylinder. Compression is also great.
When I crank the engine over, it turns fine, and almost sounds like it wants to start. If I reverse the spark plug wiring, the car will still crank, but every other second it will stop cranking (starter still tries) like a cylinder is firing while the piston is coming up or something, and stopping the motor from continuing to turn over.
The weird thing is that I've been cranking over the engine for a while, and its even getting warm, but still won't start....
Any ideas?
