Hey guys, I am a starquester at heart but I always wanted an 1g awd so I got one but I am needing to rebuild the motor. I just got my motor back from the machine shop and I started to put it all back together and I noticed that the main bearings have a LARGE grove in the bearings on top and bottom. My starquest would have a very large grove on the top bearing to alow better flow but not on the bottom. These bearings I have, have the large grove on the top and bottom. Is this correct??? I am running ACL bearings. Thanks for any help :thumb:

i have a set of kings and toplines, both only have half the bearings grooved.

Well I wonder if the ACLs I have are a better bearings?? I would not be saying this if we were talking about rod bearings but in the case of mains. I think the ACLs might be a better bearing since the large grove continues all the way around the crank, that provides the crank with LOTS of lubricant. Is anyone running these style bearings?????

different isnt always better :thumb: its not like king bearings are bottom of the barrel crap.

i would contact ACL and see what the deal is considering its kind of an important part of the engine. im surprised someone else who has ACL's hasn't chimed in.

The bearings should be ok to use. Jackson Auto Mechanics uses and sells ACL bearings. If there is a question about your bearing contact them and ask about them I sure dont think they will mind.
