I have read several threads where someone has swapped a 6bolt into their 2nd gen and had to change several things but I can't seem to find where someone has put one in their 93. Are there still several changes? If you get a running 6bolt from a 92 will it drop right in a 93 (engine still has flywheel, oil pan, and head).

Well, I've done this in my wifes Eclipse GS. But we did things different then most. We pulled the engine wiring harness from a 90 Laser RS-T and converted her 93 GS into a 93 GS-T. It does drop right in, but there is a mess of wiring that a novice will find gives them headaches. I found the wiring harness swap was easier technically, but harder laborally.

We did a 6 bolt into Sandra's '93. The water pump and timing tensioner are different. Other than that, it's a straight swap.

You said the water pump and timing tensioner are different so do i use the pump and ten. off my 7 bolt? That's all i'd have to change? differences from manual awd and manual fwd?

The complete 6 bolt is a drop in replacement for a 93. All you need to make it work is the flywheel. All sensors and ignition components from the 93 will swap right on to the new engine if it doesnt come with them.

Sorry about that. I should have been more specific. If the 6 bolt is complete you don't have to worry about it. What I'm saying is that you cannot swap those parts from your 7 to your 6 bolt if you don't have them because they're not interchangeable. The motors themselves are not different between front wheel and all wheel drive. Just make sure you have the 6 bolt flywheel for your swap and you'll be okay. Just understand that 6
bolt front wheel drive and 6 bolt all wheel drive flywheels are different.

That not entirely true. The FWD and AWD flywheels are different you have to swap

Looks can be deceiving!! Those flywheels are NOT the same! Take it from experience! You cannot use awd in a fwd and vice versa.
