ok so just to get this started i have a 1995 tsi awd, but i have a buddy that has a gs model and wants to get the 4g63 into it and i have a 6-bolt motor, ECU, wiring harness, transmission and the axles, but will he have to make new motor mounts to make it work and what else will i really need to make the swap happen? any help from someone that has done this will be very helpfull

Well... a quick search yielded this:

http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=56271&highlight=swap
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=180389&highlight=swap

Many of the other dead-end threads with this same topic mentioned this question being asked "many times before." Anyway, this is the rough list from that last link:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/t202750.html .....
"Here are all of the costs of the swap (compliments of 2gnt )
1. 4G63 turbo engine (stock) $1500
2. transmission (stock GS-T FWD) $500
3. wiring harness for engine $300
4. 4G63 ECU (stock) $300
5. shift linkage $200
6. custom engine mounts $200
7. chassis cross member $100
8. complete exhaust $200
9. intercooler, turbo, related parts $500
10. boost gauge/fuel filter, etc $300
11. Installation $1500"

You'll probably also need a custom suspension and exhaust. Basically, you need to cut off the front end from a 2G turbo and put it in your 2G N/T. Then you have to redo most of the electrical to get it to run. I hope your friend realizes what a pain this is going to be. If it doesn't work, he'll have ruined a "perfectly good" car. If you search more you might find someone who actually did this and has a more complete guide. I know you'll find a lot of people asking about it.

As has been said before, it would probably be more economically sound to keep the 2G N/A and get a turbo 1G, but since your friend already has be parts that doesn't seem to be an option anymore. Maybe getting a 1G shell would be a good option? That way you can still use the parts you have.

If he must have a turbo in his N/A Hahn Racecraft is usually the recommened shop to talk to. They have made great power with the 420A and have designed several different turbo kits to suit his needs.

The suspension and exhaust systems for all 2G RS, GS, and GS-T model Eclipses and Talons are the same.

Quite true.
