Ok Gentleman, i have used the searcg feature as the rules imply. I did find some threads on the cost of Labor for a 6 bolt swap, however they were very dated and I feel prices have changed since 2003 ..LOL..
So here is the deal.. I have a Fresh 90 blocked 6Bolt with the following improvements:
Big rods/ 2Gpistons.
Knife Edged and tricked out crank
Fully balanced with all internals
ARP Head and Main studs
MLS Mitsu HG
Power ent. T belt
Extreme psi BSE Kit (mitsu parts)
New mitsu o pump

So, needless to say a bit stronger then my 140k 7bolt.

This motor is complete. I need to know 1st of a shop in Maryland/DC/VA area that can tackle this, complete it with in a weeks time ( without any issues). Make it so everything works properly ..ie No CEL, No Misfires etc.

Secondly, How much would be a fair price to pay?

Please Keep on topic. I would like first hand experience and Suggestions of people who have payed to get it completed..
What I am not looking for is people just spitting out Shop names in the tri state area.. I want cold hard facts.

I DO NOT WANT TO TAKE THIS ENGINE TO EXTREME MOTORSPORTS OF ODENTON..
Thanks guys.

Well, if you need a shop that does it, I would recommend any DSM vendor here that is close to your area. Obviously the guys who specialize in our cars will be the most familiar with a 6 bolt swap. As far as swaps, The running rate I've see is anywhere for 800-1200 depending on the shop. Quite honestly there really isn't much to it. It's a straight forward engine swap plus a couple of things.

6 Bolt Motor Install Into a 2G Eclipse
RRE Instructions

All you really need to do is make a wiring harness for the CAS, grind and swap the 6 bolt tensioner arm into the 2g motor mount bracket, swap the plug wiring order, and a couple other odds and ends. If you are capable of doing a like-for-like engine swap, you're more than competant to do the 6 bolt swap. If not, I would suggest calling the various DSM shops and just talk to the guys. The ones who are worth the $ are the guys who will sit and talk to you on the phone about what needs to be done.

Another important thing that I've noticed many don't iterate on is the tensioner arm. Read my tech article below to see what I'm talking about. It's specific to yours and my application (6bolt in a 2g).

Thank you sir for some infomative ideas. I have done many many Engine R%R, however I am at a point where my time has become very limited and when I do get the chance I am working on the 55 Bel Air that I am helping a buddy with in my garage. So, I cant kick my best friend out in the middle of a project ( 468 BBC with all new driveline componets). I do not like paying people to work on things, but I need to get this done quickly as its my DD. I will check the vendor listing. Much appreciated..

I was under the impression only 91-94 6 bolt engines were compatible when conducting a swap. The 90 engine is a breed apart from the 91-94 engines. So am I right or wrong? I can't seem to find any documentation that states it though.

I am currently doing a 6 bolt swap which might be completed tomorrow. I was waiting on some parts which should be in tomorrow evening. The price on my swap is about 1200 but of course I've got some other things I'm doing while the engine is out so its a higher price than the standard 1200 bucks for engine swaps. Bare in mind that this is in the Cayman Islands which is very expensive and where the dollar has a higher value. I have one issue :( i bought a 95-99 Magnus SMIM but just realize that im using a 1G head. Would this fit ? :( please say yes!

Hmm.. I hope not.. I need to contact my engine builder to confirm the block date.

I have searched this and have not found anything on it... This has me worried.. My engine builder is on vacation Until the first week in january.. Damn it Damn it Damn IT..

I just got done with a 1g 7bolt swap, I think we charged 1500 in labor/some parts.
I would say $1800 should get you out the door pretty easily.

You will need a Cam angle sensor. heh.

Well, I think I might be considering JNZ .. They have been very helpful to me, and Chris is on top of the Customer service.. I need to find out how far away from me it is though.. I know it's in PA... Hope its not crazy miles. I would love for them to take care of it. The price seems very reasonable... We shall see.

It may physically bolt up but the intake ports are going to be MUCH smaller on your intake manifold vs. the ports on the head. Your best bet would be to just run the 2G head on your 6-bolt motor. Some even prefer the 2G head over the 1G but that's been discussed before.

According to the Mitsubishi CAPS program, they list the SAME part number for all '89 to '92 6-bolt blocks, MD126436. Looks like the blocks are the same, or at least interchangeable.

Thanks for the Feedback Surgeon.. That is what i thought. I look for more opinions on this from other members never hurts to have things reinforced.
