So im split on getting a rebuild for my motor or selling my car.
Well the rebuild kit i looked at had all the gaskets, pistons, rings, oil pump, etc nothing with the head though, but thats ok because that was pretty much rebuilt by me last year.
What i would like to know is if i took my car to a shop, how much does labor usually run for if you bring the kit in and they just rebuild the motor and clean it up and what not?

here ya go, according to alldata the labor times are as follows.

with no transferof parts you are looking at 13 hours. to tear down and rebuild with new parts you are looking at 32 hours. Average shop rate is around 90 dollars. Very worth it to learn how to do the work (remove and install) yourself and jsut have a machine shop assemble the motor.

ok so i am looking at this rebuild kit. Its made for my car, so does that mean i can just put it all in and go or does that mean i have to measure everything to spec?

if i do have to measure it all, where do i get al that info?

Or you could just send everything to me and I could build it for half the price of a shop since Im out of work at the moment :)

I got a set of service manuals for my 95 on ebay, for 18 bucks shipped, used of course. These things are amazing! Haynes is helpful to the everyday person, but if you start getting in deep with your car, the service manual is the way to go.
