Regina,
Hey guys, im not exacty sure where this forum should go, but since it has to do with a motor, I guess here.

I recently had my 6 bolt rebuilt and it crankwalked on me, well not yet, but it is moving a heck of a lot and its only a matter of time. And the place that built it, says they won't fix it, because up for performance and the don't warranty that. The crank is already .40 over so ya, rebuilding it again wont work.

The head is good on it, and all I would need is a block. What do you guys suggest?

I'd say new block and crank, plus all the new bottom end rebuild stuff. Gaskets, bearings, etc.......Then you'll be good to go.

How far has it crankwalked so far? Mine walked about .058" and it still didn't touch the block. Your crank is useless though, because the thrust surface is what gets eaten up. I got my 2.4 crank for 200 bucks so a 2.0 crank shouldn't cost you much.

It'll save you a lot of trouble if you can keep your block, pistons, everything the same, and just replace the crank and bearings. That's if you can trust the shop's other work.

Make sure the thust bearing is aligned correctly when it's put together, meaning it needs to be whacked in both direction with the mains lightly torqued. Look it up in any shop manual.

Also make sure your balance shaft bearings are rotated if your balance shafts are removed.

Get a mechanical oil pressure gauge to keep an eye on your oil pressure at idle.

If you have good oil pressure and the thrust bearing is aligned correctly, a 6-bolt shouldn't walk. One or both of those was missing in my case, and it walked too. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=221374

I would tell the shop to suck on something cause crankwalk on a 6-bolt has nothing to do with performance anything (arguably not even on a 7-bolt).

it walked because 6 bolt cranks have a nitride coating on them, when you turn em,bye bye coating.ive never heard of 40 over on a crank, cylinders i have.sucks though either way.i have a bare block if you need it though.

Nitride coating on Mitsu cranks, yes
Does grinding a crank remove material from the thrust surface of the crankshaft, NO:(
Therefore I would look somewhere else for the root cause of the problem.WTF
