Anyone have a complete detailed guide on how and what you need to do a 6 bolt swap in a 2G?
I'm sure there is an article about it somewhere but can't find it. If anyone could send me a link or just tell me what parts I need I would greatly appreciate it, thanks.

Also, if I were to get my 7 bolt balanced and blueprinted will this eliminate (yes, I know any car is succeptable) the infamous crankwalk issue, sorry to bring that up. If so how much does that usually cost?

what you need:
(aren't you on DSM_SW? and in EL Paso or Tucson?)
1g into a 2g

1g 6 bolt block and rotating assembly (of your Reputable Vendor choice... you may also consider purchasing a used JDM style engine) make sure you ask about how long it will be to send it!!!!

1g rear main seal plate (from any 1g including n/t)

1g full timing kit (tbelt tensioner replace the idlers while you are at it if not in your kit)

1g T-belt idler arm (from any 1g including NT)

2g head with head bolt holes bored out to 12 mm and or 31/64ths

1g arp head studs

1g water pump

1g cas (preferably 93 -94 black top cas from and 993 94 including n/ts) source from yard, not new.

1g--->2g cas harness from RRE makes it easy.

you can reuse your 2g head,

also the 2g thermostat housing and water pipe, though you may find it easier to convert to 1g parts particulalry if you are going to go to a 16g at the same time and have the 1g water lines.

1g front cover/case and gears

1g oil pump/ pickup

1g pan

balance shaft elimiator, may want to source this from the same person assmbling the block and have it already done to the block.

6 bolt flywheel recommend new pressure plate and clutch

1g 93-94 water/oil cooler mount and o ring to reuse the oem 2g oil cooler.

some great places for the misc 1g parts are the local yard and nor JNZ... those guys are great

the 1g upper timing tins

I'll let you know if the 2g plastic covers can be used with some mods... I think I just need to clearance the water pump and the idler arm areas as it is a bit different there

If not a 1g front plastic cover will work

What would it cost to balance and blueprint a 7 bolt and would that prevent the crankwalk issue or somewhat?

i m doing a 6 bolt swap into my tsi awd i have a six bolt flywheel but it is to big to go in the bellhousing from what i just found out the 90 to early 92 flywheels are the same later 92 are diffrent dose anyone know if this is what i need the one i have now is 11 inch's my 7 bolt is 10.5 will this fix my problem. thanks

sounds like you have a FWD flywheel... they are about .5" bigger from what I have been told.
The difference between 90-92.5 and post 92.5 is the 6 bolt vs 7 bolt.
